The Official Sean Williams Watch

Post#1 » by NetsForce » Mon Dec 29, 2008 11:13 pm

So... Sean was sent to the Colorado 14'ers (my favorite NBDL team)... Let's hope that he can put together some strong performances and either work his way back into the rotation or raise his trade value to the point where the Nets can get something of value in return.

We might as well try to trade Sean for whatever we can get, because hes out of here as soon as his contract runs up. He's also been hugely disappointing.

this sucks, i had really high hopes for this kid hes a great athlete and just needed playing time to develop. but sending him to the d-league you might as well trade him for a decent backup pg. sean williams for marbury!!!

Even though the competition in the D-League is lower, what would S.Will need to prove to Thorn or Kiki that he belongs.?

Another thing is what would he need to do to prove that Frank doesnt know how to handle young players?

^^^ With Marco lighting it up in GSW, I'd say he's almost untradeable right now. I think they'll definitely want more than Sean for him. Hell, they're probably begging teams to take Maggette so Marco can stay in the starting line up.

Sean has played like crap this year and that hasn't been Frank's fault, there comes a time when we have to stop making excuses for players that are playing like crap.

On a side note I think Sean is expected to play tonight against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants

the team had it's best stretch when Williams and Swift were playing (11/12 - 12/6)

^^^^ It had absolutely nothing to do with Devin playing at a very elite level either. Devin is way overrated.

Any interest in trading Sean and CDR to the Blunder? I'm not really sure exactly what your team needs so I don't know who you might be interested in.

Obviously Durant, Green, Westbrook are off the table, but you name it, the rest are available.

If Green is off the table than so is CDR.

Throw some offers around for SWAT at will though.

You realize Green averaged 18pts and 7rebs for the month of December? And CDR has only played in a total of 8 games?

Actually now that I have given it more thought Sene was the co-MVP of the D league last season. So I really doubt Williams is that much of an up grade.

Yeah but Williams has proven he's a NBA level player Sene has not...

As for what the Nets need... They're looking for another point guard right now... I'd imagine Earl Watson is available but he's a bit pricey...

I guess the Nets could also use another wingman which is probably why Jeff Green was brought up in the first place...

I Know.
I am a huge Jeff Green fan.
He looks like a Granger type with better rebounding as ceiling, which is huge.
I also know CDR doesn't have nearly the same trade value.
I was just trying to say that with the exception of Jeff Green, nothing on your roster entices me enough to send CDR your way.
That is assuming Durant and Westbrook are untouchable.
Truthfully I don't like Durant as a player at all and Westbrook would be hard to start here with Devin next to him anyway, even if they are completely unrealistic to aquire.
A draft pick would entice me, personally, but only if it was your lotto pick, maybe top 3 protected and this is OBVIOUSLY WAY TOO MUCH for CDR, but maube in some sort of package?

Yi and CDR for your lotto pick this year?

IDK, just letting you knw what I meant with the original CDR/Green statement.

When Swift and Williams were both playing, they were combining for roughly 20 minutes of consistent play off the bench.

In the Minnesota game, 4 out of the 5 starters shot below 50%, including Harris and Carter, and most of the bench shot below 50%, but the Nets were still able to win. Swift had the best +/- off the bench in fewer minutes than some of the other bench players, and he was the only bench player to shoot free throws.

Devin has been playing great, but what's the team's record since the Knicks game? And how were they doing in today's Kings game before Devin went out?

+/- is one of the most overrated stats in basketball.
