OT - Bears a great organization

Post#1 » by CTBULLBEARFAN » Wed Jul 25, 2007 8:31 pm

It's a great day in Beardom, where they've Locked up Peanut Tillman for antoher 5 years, Bazuin has signed (all draft choices locked up) and the story is Lance Briggs finally blinked, signed the tender and will be in camp.

How far they've come in the last decade. the team of Angelo as GM with Gabriel as scout and Cliff thrift managing the cap, they are arguably the best run franchise in the NFL. ten years ago, when Wannstedt had all the power, with the help of ROd Graves and Mike McASSkey with his fingers on stuff, we were doint things like trading #1 choice for Rick Mirer, moving up to draft John Allred and drafting square pegs to fit in round holes (e.g., John Thierry as the next RIchard Dent. what happened there?) Things got better under Jauron, with Mark Hatley who i thought was decent though not impeccable. But now the Bears are a well oiled machine. some off season moves werent great, like T Jones to move up in round 2 (shoulda gotten more) but overall performance of drafting, FA and resigning our own has been great

With that, Pax job with the Bulls and even the CUbbies winning, it's a good time to be a CH sports fan. Hope it rubs off on the Hawks

Locking up Peanut Tilman doesn't make us too much of a great organization
But I will agree the the Lance Briggs signing was huge.
Props to Angelo.
