Bynum also did not have 4 years of college level coaching. Bynum also has never had to be the man, and as the man you get a lot of coaching, which is what Hibbert got at G-Town. Bynum also has had much more consistent production, and much more NBA minds sold on him than Hibbert is. Lets not also forget that Bynum is younger. You're telling me that age isn't a factor when rebuilding? Next you will be telling me that between Granger and LBJ/Anthony, you'd take Granger because he has more to learn because he is not the veteran because LBJ/Anthony have more experience, even though they are younger. That makes NO sense. How the heck am I on Bynum's nuts when I have stated on the past that he wouldn't be as good if he got traded here then he is right now in LA? You think that Roy Hibbert is a cornerstone? You think GM's would take Hibbert over Bynum, when Hibbert can't even crack a top 20 list on ESPN? And wait a minute, since when are veterans the mature ones? Are you telling me the more time you spend in the NBA, you should be more mature, even if you are the younger player? So players like Amir Johnson (drafted 2005, age 21) should already be more mature and less of a future product than Hibbert (drafted 2008, age 22), because he has 3 years of NBA experience?
Lets talk about Bynum's defense for a second. Most people believe that Bynum was the missing element in the lakers run. Why? Defensively, he matches up better with Boston's frontcourt. He is one of the better shot blockers in the league, and was a double double guy with much better rebounding skills.
As for my argument against Rush, I find it shocking how "the next Eddie Jones, the next T-Prince", can't outplay a 3 year pro fringe player who most likely will not be brought back and who will find it hard to stick in the NBA, and who can't even make a best rookie defenders list on ESPN, a list that includes Luc Richard, Courtney Lee (probably 2nd or 3rd ranked perimeter defender in this draft class), and Eric Gordon?!?!?!!?

You must not watch a lot of NBA. This stuff happens all the time. The coach sometimes benches a player to light a fire under his ass. Crazy concept, I know. Also, 33 games into a rookie season doesnt dictate a career. See: Johnson, Joe; Billups, Chauncey; etc.

Ah, yes, those early draft busts who..
wait a minute.
Chauncey Billups
Draft 3rd overall, 1997
Boston Celtics
Joe Johnson
Draft 10th overall, 2001
Boston Celtics.
Hm. And all of I sudden I'm reminded of a certain team right now who has to retain a washed up Sam Cassel and Ray Allen because they are the only people who can get through to a certain point guard in Boston.
(ps, for every magical career resurrection you'll get plenty of others, like Diop, Telfair, Kwame, Darko, ,Rodney White, Dajuan Wagner, Fred Jones, Antonio Daniels, really I could go on. I mean yeah sometimes players are benched to motivate them, and other times they just suck)

WOW talk about early rankings. Holy cow. Was Danny Granger on any list his rookie year? I doubt it.
Give it time man.

K. So what I've gathered from this is: Ray Allen is washed up, no one can get through to Rajon Rondo?, and Brandon Rush just sucks. Learn something new every day.

washed up is before Sam Cassel, not Ray Allen. Ray Allen is having a great year. Yes, very few players can get through to Rondo, he's being tutored by Cassel and Allen, as he was pretty lost as a PG before they came. Without them, he wouldn't be the player he is today.
And yes, I think Brandon Rush is not as good as many people on these boards think. I think he will be a 12-15 ppg player with good defensive skills, an average or above average SG.
I will be more than happy to eat my words if I am wrong, but I am no where near sold on Rush as everyone else on this board is. I would LOVE to be wrong about Rush.

i don't expect Rush to be an all-star, but I don't think we NEED him to be. The core we've constructed is working well with each other, and Rush doesn't need to command any offense. Offensively, Cuttino Mobley-like production would be amazing. He has above average defense already.

Ahh, okay, I was very confused by the Ray Allen washed up thing. Sam Cassell is there for playoff experience and added veteran savvy. I dont think Rajon Rondo is particularly hard to "get through to". Allen isnt a tutor, he doesnt know the first thing about playing point guard. The veteran leadership by Garnett, Pierce, and Allen certainly helps Rondo, but he only has played one season without them, and rookie PG's generally struggle, so I'm not sure what we can learn from that. He's always had talent, but his offense has just been awful in the past.
As for Brandon Rush, I lie somewhere in the middle with him. Ultimately, I think he will be a quality NBA player who plays solid defense and can put the ball in the hoop...the type of guy you win titles with. Am I saying we will win titles with him? No, but he is the type of glue type of guy you need to win titles I think.
