This board seems dead and it's a little depressing with Melo going down.
but
after we win the title this year away from Boston since obviously they can't beat us, I was wondering, what does our offseason look like? do we have 2 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks, Bobcats pick, let's not re-sign Linas Kleiza... and lets get rid of hunter, chucky, and carter. somehow, someway. I'm rambling.
anyways... thoughts?
This team is good and signs are we are only going to get better as the next few seasons go by.
Chauncey/?
JR/Dahntay/Weems
Melo/Balkman
Kenyon/Anderson
Nene/?
signings---mike conley?
draft- stephen curry, ty lawson?
we have 3 stars in our starting line up and 1 on the bench... who is out there that is going to put us over the top and become a competitor for years to come once we see the lakers, spurs, and everyone else in the west go on the decline.

We don't have the Cats this pick, unless they somehow make the playoffs.
Chucky is pretty much a free agent....but we'll probably deal him before the summer anyway. Conley isn't going to be a free agent. Kill me now if we draft Curry. Lawson has a strong chance of happening if he is there, but I don't necessairly think that's a good thing.
It's too much to think about right now. But hopefully we're under the tax....and that we will have shown enough in the playoffs to make Kroenke ok the use of our big ass TPE. I do think we should draft a young PG and have him as our primary backup to learn underneath Chuancey(someone like Collison, Maynor, or Mills would be nice). We need another big, but finding one in the draft could be a challenge, so that's where I think our TPE could come in handy. Then I'd use our MLE money(doesn't have to be all of it) on a vet shooting guard....someone like Anthony Parker. I'd also bring back a guy like Joe Smith for cheap.
If we could do all that...I think we'd have quite the team for a few years. Good mix of young talent and experienced vets....solid defensively and offensively.
Something like....
Billups/rookie(Collison/Maynor/Mills/Lawson)
Anthony Parker/J.R. Smith
Anthony/Balkman/Weems (Kleiza could be resigned, depending on the price)
Martin/TPE guy/Joe Smith
Nene/Andersen
Depending on who we could get using the TPE, if anyone, that team is good enough to compete for the title...IMHO.
