Gabe looked good

I thought Rondo looked really tired in the fourth. And that is why we lost.

With that in mind, I'm actually somewhat encouraged by Gabe's performance last night. He and House had a very good stint in the second period. The + / - was a +8. I think there might be a bit of a silver lining here. I don't know, maybe just wishful thinking.

Maybe 30 games more into the season Doc will let him play 7 minutes in a game. Needs to play.

Remember last year when in took Doc two months to finally play Leon and when he did he tore it up. Hopefully if this guy can play, he will be ready to play if he has to in May.

I honestly don't understand why he doesn't receive more minutes on a consistant basis. He could be to our rotation like Rodney Stuckey was to the Pistons last year IMO. He's athletic, makes smart decisions, plays good D, has a smooth shot, and does a good job keeping his dribble alive. He's also one of the very few players on our bench with 3 point range.

I'd like to see him get a few minutes with some of the big 3 on occasion, just to serve as practice if and when Rondo doesn't perform up to par going into the playoffs. I think he'll surprise those that think we need to start scouting the D-league for a backup PG.

Pruitt is one of the very few bench players on this team that can actually shoot the ball. He plays defense and doesn't make many mistakes.

No clue why he isn't playing.

Well, there is more to playing time than winning the next game. There probably are DA type contract issues. I was encouraged to see him play well with House.

well, even in garbage time, 32% shooting is just bad

Would love to see Gabe play more, but I just don't see it happening. Doc really hasn't been very good at developing young guards. Rondo has continued to get better, but I don't know how much of that is from Doc. He's always been athletic with a poor shot, so not much has changed there. He refuses to give Gabe any minutes and will just bury him even further if they activate Sam in the 2nd half. TA hasn't improved in his ball handling or outside shooting.

I realize this is probably just a result of a couple losses putting a sour taste in my mouth, but Doc hasn't shown me anything in terms of knowing how to set a good rotation or developing our young guys. He's been fantastic with the Big 3 and got everyone aboard the Ubuntu train, but I just don't see much from him in terms of development with our guards. Maybe I'm wrong and Gabe isn't ready for more minutes, but every time I see him on the court, he's doing something good. There's really no reason not to be playing him 10 minutes a night. Doc isn't going to push the Big 3 for any regular season records, so why not spend some of these games (esp against lesser opponents like Cha, NY, etc) to see what the kid can do with 10 minutes?

Doc's refusal to play Gabe is almost as frustrating as his insistence on playing Scal late in games.

Let's beat Houston so I can stop being so bitter.

I like Gabe every time I see him, but he just doens't look like a point, he seems pretty Delonte-esque, a servicable shooter and servicable defender, a sevicable ballhandler, he just seems like more of a 2. Maybe he'll develop into a playmaker with time, but I just don't see it. However, considering how much I'm starting to hate seeing Eddie on the floor, I'm all about seeing him take some of those minutes.

Let Gabe play the backup 2 guard and have Tony Allen be in charge of handing out gatorade.

Wait a minute, Tony would probably turn that over too and there would be a big mess on the floor.

Nevermind.

 Seriously, even better would be to trade Tony and House for a playmaker and let Gabe play some 2, Sam can back up both the 1 and 2 of needed.
