Dirk for me. I guess Josh scored all of his points in the first half, he was invisible offensively and defensively in the second. (I only saw second half)

Thank god for Dirk. He carried the team the whole game and made clutch shots.

Wright did a good job in the first half as did JJ.

Kidd and Barea. Dirk's game last night was my least favorite type of game to watch him play. Drift around the outside, taking soft, fadeaway jumpers. Great that he was hitting them. But 4 rebounds out of our power forward and best rebounder? Non-existent defense. He looked like all he wanted to do was shoot. One good pass to Damp, don't even remember the other 2 assists.

These sorts of games are why he has a reputation of being soft. I don't think he is, but he played soft last night.

are you kidding me? he made 34 points and was perfect from the line and from threepointland, adding 2 blockshots as well as 3 assists!

without his offense we have lost easily by 20+. get over it, sweet daddy. the other players have to take over on the defensive end. our main problems are the SG and C positions! get us a camby and a vincanity and we are a lock for the finals!

Well if he's hitting them, why does he need to stop?? I agree, in general he needs to get to the line more and his rebounding has been bad the past two games. Other than that, it's hard to say Kidd (who needs to contribute more than 1 or 3 points) and Barea (who was forcing too many shots in the end) had a bigger impact.

Which brings me to the point that, Kidd needs to be more of an offensive threat out there. Yeah it's not his game, but being COMPLETELY non-existant on offense (like 1 or 3 points) means the starting lineup is basically 2 on 5.

If he had played a little defense we would have won by twenty. You get it over it.

And by the way, I'm as big a Dirk fan as there is on RealGM. I think the guy is underrated and disrespected, and how he's improved his game since he came into the league is just rediculous. But his defense last night basically stunk. He doesn't get a pass on defense. He plays a bad defensive game, then he needs to get called out for it.

eric gordon and thornton almost killed us, and dirk shoul've contained them? no thats howard's, jason's or terry's task, not dirk one's.

generally speaking dirk lacks on defense, but you cant give kidd nor barera the POG award, only because they got a couple assists, boards and maybe steals, but no points. dirk carried all the load and therefore its an automatic vote for dirk :)

Ah, I see. So, it's an all points, no assists boards and steals game? Well, thanks for explaining it to me. You should root for D'Antoni teams. Except of course that you can't do that past about May 'cause they never play in the finals and never will.

Anyway, you pick who you want, I'll pick who I want. I respect your right to your view. I'll give you the last word if you feel the need for one.

dear sweet daddy,

dont get me wrong i love great defense, but kidd didnt played great defense. for me it was a solid defensive performance, but not great. To my mind 3 points,10 boards, 8 assists and 3 steals arent really as good as 34 points, 4 bards, 3 assists and 2 blocks.

and a side note to d'anoni's system:

his system always works very fluid on the offensive end, which leads to high scoring performances, but lacks big time on the defensive end! thats no secret!
But most great and sucessfull NBA play-off teams didnt only relied on great defense, they needed as well great offense! the mix of both made them champs, not the defensive only mentallity! you have to run great offense to make things work!

i hope, you can understand my point of view!

best wishes!
