Awful defence by rondo at end of game

Post#1 » by boykins_2 » Thu Jan 8, 2009 1:49 pm

You see those last two plays where Rondo was at playing at least 12' off his man. The guy proceeds to blow by him twice, ending up scoring or assiting. Rondo wasn't even looking at him.
Rondo is good at stealing the ball, meaning he takes a lot of chances.
Pruitt needs to play more especially in these situations.
Not until Rondo matures more, mentally and with his shot.
The fact of the matter is we haven't seen a another PG play with the big 3. Not as as a starter, (unless it was injury fill in) or I don't think in any situation.

Rondo is the problem right now. For whatever reason he has lost his effectiveness.
A combination of his low confindence level (shooting--that's effecting other parts of his game) and other teams have figured out how to reduce his impact on the game.

^^Well it's his fault for not practicing his shooting and Danny and Doc's for not forcing him to...

He is still essential to this team's success, though...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Just because he hasn't improved his shot doesn't mean he hasn't been practicing. I remember hearing that he was working hard on his shot.

That being said, he is the biggest problem for the team right now. Should have been benched in the 4th quarter for Gabe last night.

Ray Allen has been on an obvious shooting slump. If he makes a few more shots per game, they would have won almost every game lately including the Lakers game. Perk was dominated by Yao. There were three starters who didn't play well and Eddie House continues with his shooting slump that has been going on for practically all season, but it's Rondo who gets the blame. He is the punching bag on this board. Go figure.

Yeah, seriously, Rondo has had some un-Rondo like games, but let's not get carried away. Gabe over Rondo in crunch time? Rondo needs more time, not less. How about Gabe over House in the 4th quarter, especially after Gabe was the only C to score in the first 6 minutes of the fourth? Pruitt is better than House in every conceivable category and if he's going to take anyone's minutes this year it should be House's.

Ray has missed a ton of shots and the chemistry between Rajon and Ray has seemed to evaporate recently. And instead of playing House more, which is what Doc has done, and resting Rondo for 8 minutes of the 4th quarter, what he should be doing is letting Rondo play through his mistakes, so when we get to the fourth quarter he's still in the flow. Doc needs to lean on Rondo in these tough times, not let him defer or sit the bench. This team is at it's best when Rondo is playing well....so why don't we take more measures to ensure he plays well? Measure #1 would be playing more minutes, never sitting more than 6 minutes in a stretch of time....

I'm so tired of seeing the flow of the game ruined by House's attempt at point guard. We have one great point guard, one up-and-coming combo guard, and one short 2 guard who's one quantifiable skill is shooting the ball---and yet we turn to the one-dimensional player when times get tough and we do it when his one dimension isn't working! Doesn't make sense. Doc, you've got to trust Rondo more and learn to trust Pruitt with the backup point minutes....you can still play House at 2 guard, but have the heart to bench him when he's not hitting. If House can't hit shots, he should never see court time. It's that simple.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

If Rondo plays well, Ray Allen plays well.

Right now Ray is shooting bad and he's not taking the best of shots but those are the only ones he's apparently getting.

Coming off picks and shoot fadeaway 3's is very difficult and then when he's wide open he's probably putting too much pressure on himself to make it add to all of that he's taking desperation 3's at the end of games to try and help cut the lead or tie the game it's just going to kill his percentages.
