Starting for our Clippers

The injuries that won't stop
Baron Davis (bruised tailbone), Zach Randolph (bruised left knee), Jason Hart (right elbow tendinitis), Mike Taylor (fractured right thumb), and Chris Kaman (Strained left arch) are out.

Starting for the Spurs

Spurs Reserves

Spurs injuries
Ian Mahinmi (sprained right ankle) is out.
Fabricio Oberto (sore left foot) is questionable.

We have looked competetive these past two games even though we haven't been able to finish. Hopefully tonight we will still be in this one and we won't run out of gas at the end. We came close to beating the Spurs before if it wasn't for that Roger Mason three. Fred Jones should be a huge help to Mardy and Eric so they don't have to keep playing such heavy minutes. Hopefully we end out 8 game losing streak tonight and hopefully we start getting a few of our players back after this road trip.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

At least Camby's back. When are we going to see ZBo again?

Eric Gordon is being aggressive early. Early 8-5 lead for the Clippers.

I'm probably going to miss most of this game. I'm looking at the boxscores. It looks like Collins is off to a prodctive start.

Collins and Thornton were solid for the Clippers in the first quarter, and the Clips played some good defense. We have the advantage 22-16 after the first.

We need to take better care of the ball, but anytime we're up on the road I'll take it. Clippers in the locker room with a 44-43 lead.

Thornton is playing well with 13 points, Mardy has 10 and EJ has 8. Fred Jones is off the bench with 5.

Clippers lead 44-43 at the end of the first half. No Baron, no Chris, no Mike, no Zach, and this squad is playing with some great energy and intensity. Something we don't see with Baron running the show. Heres a quick breakdown of the box score:

Mardy Collins has 10/5 with 2 blocks and a takeaway on 5-7 shooting. Camby is en route to another 12+ rebound game as he already has 6/6. Fred Jones has 5/2/2 and Eric Gordon is struggling from the field(3-9) but has 8 points, despite getting no love from the officiating crew like always. Thornton has a solid 13 points, but has 4 turnovers.

For the Spurs, Parker is beasting with 13 points, Mason is chipping in 11 with 3 treys, Ginobili has 7/3 with 4 steals off the bench.

Q's Keys to Victory:
  • Cut down on turnovers. We already have 10 turnovers, and its just the half, to go with only 9 assists. When your going up against a tough Spur squad, mainly when your undermanned, you can not give the ball away, plain and simple.
  • Continue with defensive intensity. Yes, we are getting burned in the backdoor, but our guys are closing in on looks and have active hands, deflecting passes left and right.
  • Rebound, rebound, rebound. Spurs, so far, only have 3 offensive rebounds and we have 8 more rebounds then they do. We have to keep crashing the boards and keeping San Antonio off of them.

I love the teamwork, and the way they are putting in the effort on both ends.
It's so wopnderful to see how the Clippers can play so well against the really good teams. I just feel such joy watching that.
I loved it when Ralph said: "There's Gregg Popovich looking calm, cool and collected and he is none of those things right now."
Almost every Clipper out there has been playing solidly, except that EJ hasn't really warmed up yet.
Watch out Spurs when he does!

I missed the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. So did the Clips, but if we can end the quarter within 5 I'll be satisfied.

Terrible inbound play to finish the quarter. Clippers within 6.

Return to Los Angeles Clippers
