Orton wasnt bad this team is not built around him .

The defense was awful almost 5 yards a carry and over 400 yards of offense .

if it wasn't built for KO and if this team wasn't built for grossman, than the front office did a horrible job trying to build an offense.
agree?

I think it's safe to say Charles Tilman is now one of the top 5 worst cornerbacks in the NFL currently. He's God awful.

This team from day one was assembled to win defense and special teams . Everyone assumed that if the defense and ST maintained the level of play from 2006 then we could have a shot at returning to an elite team if we cut down on the turnovers . However as those areas have started to decline we never invested enough on the offensive side of the ball so that they could pick up the slack of the rapidly declining defense .

Prior to this season people didnt think the offense could score at all but we end up with a 3000 yard passer,a 100 yard rookie back, and a stud TE. Thats something to build upon. But now we are screwed because we thought we were solid defensively and thats where all of our money is tied up. So we gotta make some tough decisions ahead . How do you keep moving forward offensively while trying to revamp a defense of highly paid under performing players ?

The defense is a very pass rusher away from being a dominant group again. I think our corners do an okay job, it's just that we have them trying to defend for too long. Even though Urlacher has declined, we still have a great linebacking group all together.

If you could somehow swing Anquan Boldin in trade (give up a 1st maybe?) and then get an impact defensive lineman then I think this team would be in great shape come next year.

All I know is D. Manning is the WORST cover FS, he proved it against Houston. I can't blame Tillman for the blown coverage because in the Bears system, Johnson should've had Manning on him over the top, not making Tillman chase him from 10 yards away. You didn't see blown coverages like that with MB back there, he at least knew where his assignment was.

Sorry I don't remember the players involved:

On the Texans TD play where the receiver out-fought the Bears CB at the back of the left side of the end zone:

Was it just me, or did anyone else notice that it seemed the Texans player did not have full possession of the ball with both feet in bounds, therefore nullifying the TD? He and the CB both had their hands on the ball, and by time he ripped it out of the CB's hands (gaining control of the ball) only one foot was down before he went out of bounds.

No one in the broadcast mentioned it, nor have I seen any game coverage mention it. Maybe it was a good play and I saw it through "Bears-colored" glasses...

It was AJ snatching it away from Tillman. It was actually good D on the play and was just a tremendous catch. As far as I remember I didn't have any question it was a TD but I could be wrong.

We still talking about this game? I've long since deleted the game from my DVR but if there were any question, I know I'd be all over it.
Turn down for what?
