mets sign tim redding to 1 year 2.25 mill contract

per metsbog.com

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Mets are on the verge of signing free-agent RHP Tim Redding to a one-year, $2.25 million contract with incentives.

Ken Davidoff of Newsday believes the deal could be worth around $2.5 million, which is closer to what I wrote earlier this afternoon.

In 33 starts, Redding was 10-11 with a 4.95 ERA through 182 innings for the Nationals last season.

He underwent surgery on his left foot in November, but, reportedly, will be 100 percent by spring training.

he had a good 1st half before sucking in the 2nd half ... so mets need 1 more starter in the rotation.
LOL Y U MAD THO?

Omar and company apparently think he has an upside and a guy like this would have been very useful instead of doing the 5th starter by committee had we had him in 2008.

He's OK as a 5th starter and nice insurance as a 6th starter, long inning guy for the pen. I think he's an upgrade over Stokes who basically had the 5th/6th starter and long inning in releif spot at the end of last year.
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.

Double standard?
