If you have the opportunity to get the pieces to contend for a title, right now, you do it. End of discussion. It's amazing that people don't realize how hard it is to get one of those things. Look at the last 20 years--- there are only 5-6 teams that have won championships. Some teams in the league have never won one.

In the NBA, you go for it. 10 years from now, Minneapolis will likely still have no championship with Al. If they do, I will be very happy for the team but odds are that they don't win one. Maybe they get close but always fall a little short of Blazers or some other team. That's the way it goes, so if you have the opportunity to get one, you take it, and I'm glad Danny did.

As far as a dynasty goes, it'd be nice but you have to be pretty darn lucky as well as smart, ie: superstar falls into lap of already decent team like Duncan on the Spurs with Robinson. But the Celtics weren't lucky this time around. They were mainly unlucky for years and got bad management, bad lotto luck, and tragic outcomes to some players lives. Danny, Wyc, Doc, etc put together a championship team using sound business sense and great intuition. 07-08 is one of my favorite years ever, and nothing will take that away.

Maybe Al will never win a championship in Minny, but he would have won with the celtics last year had he been on that team. Plus he doesn't alienate his teammates the way you know who does, so there would be better chemistry.

So you think that if you replace KG with AI they Celtics still win a championship last year?

Do you believe that the spurs replace Zack Randolph with Duncan they still win those titles? I mean Randolph actually put up better numbers than Duncan did during those year the spurs won.

Yes. Hell No.

Do you think Scalabrine and Powe are better than Big Al? Maybe you do, but my point is that the Celtics are 9-2 without KG, So you think that if Scal and Powe can get it done on this team, Big Al wouldn't?

I guess I am lost as to what your are saying. If you replace Jefferson with KG the Celtics do not win a championship and that is a fact. I loved Al when he was here but he is not the same player as KG is.

Scal and Powe are both lousy basketball players so no I do not think they are better than big Al. Put it this way Scal and Powe would not get any playing time on the Lakers or Cavs if they were on the team. Unfortunately Doc has not choice but to use them.
