there is fire......
Now we have read the rumors about possible guys on the outs..the 2 mentioned are Giddens and Pruitt for a shooter..the last one was Riddick. The only constant is Giddens and Pruitt...sooooo those guys are gonna be the bait it seems. It seems to me Danny has a plan in place to somehow to replace the backup point position. This may be achieved by getting Starbaby to play backup or with getting him and demoting Rondo to play with the 2nd unit. It also looks like Danny is looking to get a shooter for the 2nd unit. It seems to be an overhauling of the 2nd unit. The extra big man problem it seems will have to be done not by trade but by the FA route. But it does seem Danny is working on it from what I am seeing and from what I believe and I will leave it at that. :wink:

I love how Danny keeps saying he's happy with the team, but all these rumors keep popping up. As I've said before I like Gabe, but I think he's the odd man out. We'll have Rondo, Marbury and Cassell on the team so we don't really need another young point guard. Heck we don't even need Eddie House on the team if we get a small forward that can shoot.

I'm sorry to be reading that about Pruitt, but he projects to no more than a backup PG-combo on the Rondo team, he never has been Doc's player, and there are always a fair number of candidates for that slot.

Giddens has just rubbed me the wrong way in attitude since he was drafted. He says all the right things, but I think it is genuine with Walker, Walker is quite a bit younger and a bit bigger, and Walker seems like a smarter guy too.

I think the disappointments this year include TA's not stepping up to the role they'd hoped and there being less of a market for Baby or Powe in trade than they'd expected. (Or POB, for that matter.)

Maybe Doc will tire of his tired and aging 'A team' and be more open to some young legs in Bill Walker backing up at the wing.

First off, putting Rondo with the 2nd unit is a disaster waiting to happen. He cannot shoot, so you want to put him with a group of guys who cannot shoot as well? Not happening. A few weeks ago, Rondo went through his best stretch as a pro, and everyone on here was lauding him and calling him an all-star. Now, many, not all, are calling for a demotion or calling him crap. Yes, he is playing like crap, but he is our STARTING PG. End of discussion here. Yes, Ainge may be up to something. I think he is always calling/listening/discussion potential trades/acquisitions; that is what GMs do. Now, anyone thinking there is a miracle cure that is going to fix this team from the outside is dilusional. It is going to come from where it begins, the starting 5. Yes, we need bench help and I believe Ainge will get some. However, if you think they will come in here and fix our problems, you are in for a big disappointment. The starting 5 have not played well for a few weeks together, especially on defense. That is where the problem is. It all begins and ends with defense and right now, ours for whatever reason, is not up to par.

How in the hell has Giddens rubbed you the wrong way? Have you met him? He has been in the D league almost all year with Walker. I am not sure you are just basing this on what the media has said about his past and such and it has nothing directly to do with what he has done here.

I don't see Pruitt going anywhere. You don't draft a guy like Pruitt (IMO) because you expect him to contribute right away or develop good mtrade value right away. You draft him because he has the potential to develop into a good PG in time, and you draft him with patience in mind.

Besides, if you are simply looking for a shooter, you give Pruitt a better look before trading him, as his jump shot looks pretty sweet right now from what I've seen.

That said I'm not surprised to see a move made.

All we can do is speculate. Which is fun! Kind of. It was better when we were hearing names like KG and Ray. We will have to settle for Redick and Morrison.

I wouldn't feel any more confident than I do right now. House is a spot up shooter, and streaky at that. I cannot see a Rondo/House backcourt being very effective consistently. And I think all this Marbury talk is a little overrated. Yes, he has talent, but he has failed everywhere he has gone. I don't think he'll disrupt the chemistry of our team, but I don't see him as helping out that much either.

I still haven't gotten over the whole crying fiasco when the Zags were eliminated from the tournament. Yes, I know its okay to show emotion, but there's a difference between not being able to hold back tears and bawling in the middle of the floor like a spoiled child looking wanting attention.

Let's not get this post confused.....I'm trying to figure out where Danny is headed...not my direction but where Danny is headed by these rumors....if Rondo can't hit a jumper and that is killing us maybe I would wait until he can..maybe Danny won't and would put if he could SM in the 1st unit to hit the open jumper. Maybe Rondo is fitted in Danny's mind to run the 2nd unit...etc. I'm trying to see into Ainge's mind. 8-)

I am for trading all our young non-essential players.

Pruitt, Giffens, Walker, Powe and Big Baby are expendable.

We need a backup point who can score (Marbury), a shooter (Kapono or Redduck, prefer Kapono) and definitely some length with a big, preferably with scoring ability (yeah, that's not hard to find).

Pruitt may be a good player, as isWalker and Giddens. But, they are never playing in Boston anyway.

You either play your picks, or you trade him. I would trade any these guys for vets in a heart beart.

I've met Giddens a few weeks ago in Anaheim during a D-League game. The guy is really humble and nice. He took the time to take pictures with two Celtic fans after the game. He even thanked us Celtic fans for coming out. In the little time I saw him, he was really friendly and classy. He IMO is going to be a good player on day if given the chance.

I hope your kidding about Morrison. The only people that are crying are his fans that thought he was going to do anything and the organization that drafted him as a lottery pick.

I like Morrison is college, but never thought his game would translate to the NBA game. Morrison can't rebound well, can't defend, and is weak. He is a good shooter but struggles against guys his height. There is a reason he hasn't done **** in the NBA so far.

we have redundancy at the 2 with tony, JR and Gabe and we also have redundancy at the 4 with baby and leon ( and scal). If I were the gm I would trade tony allen and give his minutes to gabe. cassell retires and becomes a coach so if you get marbury you're still at 15. maybe tony and baby are enough to get you joe smith or brad miller. we need bill walker because we have no small forward other than pierce and even though doc has played tony and baby at the 3 they're not small forwards. i think danny would like to keep walker and one of giddens or pruitt
