He isn't worth the media circus and the hatred from the fans. Not only on the road but also at a home stadium. I can't imagine why any team would take him on, for any price.

Could possibly turn out to be a complete cancer and it may lead to team chemistry issues. I'm not saying Mike's that type of guy, but you never know how one player can dramatically change a team for the bad, and the guy doesn't even have to play one down for it to happen. I'm assuming the media drama once he's out and signs with a team is also going to get annoying to his teammates.

hehehe, puuuleeeeze. cmon hmfl, really? is there a threat of him killin the guard dog on a franchises team campus? are there dog mascots out there that might get punched in the face? maybe the chargers shouldnt pick him up, because he might cut the throat of the san diego chicken! equating dog fighting to cancer in lockerroom is a stretch. unless folks around here have bought into that load of DOG CRAP from peta.

The media circus is the best reason to sign him. Not making headlines? Pick him up!

His completion rate is my issue.

LAKESHOW, I'd much rather have a cancer on my team than a guy with Vick's past. For some reason, I actually kind of like players who are cancers.

Can he return kicks and punts?

Certainly not at QB.

The Lions will have Matthew Stafford.

In theory, sure. But that wasn't the question.

Isnt it funny how 2 years ago..there were so many Vick Apologists and that he is one of the best QB's out there..(I for one always saw through his inaccuracies)..But now..every one is dogging him..(No pun intended)

I hope he gets a shot..he wasnt a bad QB..now it all depends if he still "got it"..
For all the criminals we let in the NFL..i can't believe Vick has gotten the worse of it from Dog Fighting...

Agreed. I would take Vick before he went to prison over half the QB's in the league.

And to be fair to him, he's never been a "cancer" before. Was he a leader? Not really. Was he a competitive player that everyone on the team respected? Yes. No one even knew of this whole dog fighting thing until April 2007.

Vick was an excellent QB that gave his team a chance whenever he was on the field. He's a crappy person, but I still say he did as much with his teams as anyone else would have been able to do. I don't think very many people have changed their stance on his football ability.

I dont think he'd start on any team in the league right now. No team would sign him thinking that he would be their day 1 starter.

I never liked him as a player but I hope he gets a second chance and does well with it. He's served his time.

The terrible irony is that the Wildcat craze kicks in when Vick, the absolute perfect player to run that formation, gets out of the league.

I don't know how bad it would really be from the fans. People forget over time, and Vick has been a model prisoner and has quietly worked real hard at wronging his rights. Sure the fanatics will grill him forever and the team has to be capable of handling the sideshow.

My issue is that he struggled with the finer points of playing QB before the whole dog thing: short accuracy, reading coverages, looking off safeties, leadership. Two years away from the game isn't going to help any of that. I'd bring him in the way the Lions brought in Culpepper last year--low risk, fairly low-key and see what he's got to offer. Vikings fans: your GM feels that way too

I never liked Michael Vick even before this. That being said I could care less about dogfighting I am not an animal lover in the least.

That being said I would have no issue with him returning to the NFL because people fail to realize that he's aged about a couple of years and that could be the difference between a spot on a roster and being cut.

So in the end either way it will work itself out.

But no I would not want him on the Colts we have no need for him. We already have a QB like I really want to downgrade that position with Vick?

I find it sad that teams will shy away from him, not because of what he has done, but what people will think of the team and their reactions if they sign him.
It’s got to be karmic justice that Wildcat/Pistol offenses caught on in a season without Vick.
If anything that formation helps Vick's chances of coming back. Teams can find a way to use them if they are too scared to play him at QB full-time.
at his cutrate, cheap, bargain basement value? hell yeah. whats the worse thing that can happen? cutting him?
Exactly why he will get a 2nd chance whether PETA nuts like it or not. Such a talented player that can be signed for such a cheap price.
