I will say that I love that he's edging close to 50% from the floor; impressive considering he shoots so many jump shots. I also love that he's cut way down on the 3-pointers.

Yeah, I've eagerly awaited this day, where he starts playing the game the easiest way possible at all times. Sooner or later, he would have to face the days of smart midrange jumpers to safeguard his longevity and improve his efficiency. I absolutely love it. I've also been waiting for the part of his career where he starts shooting around or above the 50% clip, only taking top quality shots. Correct me if I'm wrong but when MJ got into that phase of his career, he started winning championships, right?

Thank you. My point exactly.

Im talking about overall my brothers.
I mean Snaq you brought up a good point on my post as far as the biggest stage of his life, BUT has he not done that when we won the threepeats?
Ture that last years finals was a disaster BUT how many more finals can you see him playing in?
I would say maybe 4 to 5 until he retires, so it wouldnt be fair to have last years finals lose as one of his failures cause the complete lose shouldnt be blamed on Kobe alone, yet we can also sit here and credit him for getting us to the finals too, cant we?

The Kobe we see today is actually a lot more similar to Mike during the second phase of his career, post "retirement."

Pre-retirement, the big difference was that he finally had a good team around him. At that point, his jumper wasn't quite as good as it would be later, but he still did just about anything he wanted. (I'll never forget that sheer hopelessness of watching Byron Scott try to guard Jordan in the 91 Finals. It was like he was playing against air.)

But I've definitely noticed the similarities in how Kobe's game is evolving, especially in regards to the high post game you see him break out from time to time. That was such a money skill set that Mike developed late in his career, and it's awesome to see Kobe doing the same.

It only makes sense as your athletic ability begins to wane. As skillful as he already is, Kobe should have no problem developing that part of his game even further. I look forward to it as it probably extended Jordan's prime by at least a couple of seasons.

I notice kobe lost some of his elevation. While fans are gockin over brons and wades reckless style of play, i would take this kobe late mj style of play anyday! decreasing his 3's and most of all the % busters late in shot clock that he would used to ALWAYS bail his team out... now that we have gasol's money mid range jumpers it reflects on his career high fg%'s.

Kobe mentally is on a whole other level than anyone else in the league, including lebron. Kobe has tapped into the Zen master's wisdom and is know playing like a true sage of basketball. Lebron is good and doing it all superior physical talent, but mentally speaking Kobe has attained some sort of higher mental status.

I would say Kobe is best and greatest (different meaning) shooting guard of his generation. No need to explain why. However, last night he didn't play like one, making terrible decisions on offense.
