I believe the first step is to stop watching basketball games. That will allow you to "question assumptions". I believe that you'll quickly improve your basketball expertise - to the point that suddenly you understand more about the game than Kevin McHale - but not than Charles Barkley, David Berri or Stephen A. Smith, about whose opinions you must care. Respect the experts! I'm trying to figure out what to do next. Not having a clue about the difference between the SG and the SF in the Bucks offensive system is probably another requisite.

Your condescending act has worn thin. Very thin. Stick to posting about the topic and not about other members. Otherwise find another board.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

There's no way he deserves that money, thats ridiculous

Unfortunately for Sessions, I strongly suspect that the league FO are filled with idiots like Kevin McHale (who, absurdly, keep watching games to form opinions) and his peers and not "open-minded experts".

I, for one, do not believe for a second that the financial aspects are a good enough reason to ship Sessions. NBA teams genuinely dislike to throw offer sheets to RFA. I believe that the Bucks will have more opportunities during the Summer to make arrangements to their salary roll than people are assuming, in case that's necessary. If budgetary restraints are a big factor - more than just a pleasant detail - in Hammond's decision of making or not making this deal I think he's doing a big mistake (in his decision-making process).

Just like to point out that DAMN, could the board be any more split over this? Check out the polling results!

I believe Kevin McHale would give Sessions 10.2 million.

Hmmm... he didn't give a lot more to Al Jefferson, so that means he values the two about the same. I say we should make an offer of Sessions+1st round draft pick+whatever salary fillers they want and get Big Al. I'm done with Conley.

Notice how the split was about 70-30 when half the votes were cast, yet now the discrepancy has dwindled to just about nothing? Even though many of the regulars who originally objected have recently expressed how the proposed trade was growing on them. I think the results were manipulated by opposing fans who heard about the trade later and wanted to give their two cents about how we were getting screwed, since all they see as outsiders are statistics where Sessions prevails in a head to head battle vs. Conley. The die hards heard about it within 12 hours and cast their votes immediately. I don't think what opposing fans have to say on this issue is particularly relevant, unless maybe they're Grizzlies' fans. From now on when these polls are composed I think they should be given a short life span so they aren't corrupted. And RealGM should include an option in polls where posters can change their mind after a the snap judgment phase has passed. The realistic split between true Bucks' fans on this issue would be about 80-20 in favor of at this juncture.

I don't understand what the Conley fascination here is. I think a lot of people on this board vastly uderrate our players. Namely Redd, Alexander and Villanueva. Redd and Villanueva have played well lately and Alexander hasn't had much of a chance yet. Plus I think if he got in and won the slam dunk contest that more fans might come to the Bradley Center because of him. He was slow to develop at West Virginia and likely will be slow to develop in the NBA, but he is a hard worker and will become a very, very good player in this league. Conley can't shoot, isn't a special defender and is small. Keep Sessions or trade him in part of a bigger deal.

Sessions plus Allen for Big Al works for me.

How do you prove your claim? How do we know that there were just a bunch of fans who took time and thought about the deal before voting, then realized we're getting screwed, and voted against it? You're making quite an inference there.

FWIW, the poll I put on Brew Hoop is 81% against and 18% for (181 votes). I phrased it from the perspective of "if you were John Hammond..."

In the accompanying article I basically said I didn't like it, so that might also bias the casual fans taking the poll, I don't know.

I think the biggest key in whether fans like the idea of this potential trade is just how highly or not that fan thought of Conley coming out of college. Fans who really liked Conley are going to be more inclined to think with a change of scenery, he could reach the potential that he's obviously not reached thus far in Memphis. Fans though that either didn't like much Conley going into that draft or were lukewarm on him then are going to use his mediocre at best production in Memphis to just reinforce the beliefs they had about him and thus not like this trade.

I was a big fan of Conley and that obviously plays a role in why i'm more receptive to this trade possibility, even with what he's gone so far in the NBA.

I wasn't a big Conley fan last year and was glad we didn't get the chance to draft him. With that said I'm about as down as you could possibly be on JA and have been since we've drafted him. With that in mind and the fact that I think there is a very good chance we have to let Sessions go this off season I'm down with the trade.

Since in my mind Sessions is already gone we're basically trading Conley for JA. Sign me up for that all day. Would you trade Haislip for Conley?

Actually that's gonna be the Yellowstone super-volcano exploding. Every 600,000 years or so, and currently 40,000 years overdue. Volcanic ash, poisonous gases, millions of acres of lava flow, nuclear winter, etc etc.

I voted very late and voted no, I think Alexander is going to be a good player and in no way ready to give him away for nothing. If the deal were Sessions for Conley straight up I could live with it because Conley would be by far the best defensive guard on the Bucks, but some future pick for JA just plain sucks to me. I can see why Skiles would want Conley very bad, but this team is far more desperate for a #4 than what I am seeing here.

Yes and I'd trade Alexander for him without a doubt. I don't think Alexander's upside is anywhere close to Conley's. For me, this is all about whether or not I'd want to trade Sessions. I personally do not, but if the return was Conley then I would pull the trigger. But like I said before, I won't be crushed if this deal falls through since keeping Sessions would be, in my opinion, a very good alternative. I was much more disappointed when the Landry deal fell through since I think he would be a great fit and a big long-term upgrade at PF.
Nothing will not break me.

I see he's got a pretty impressive stat line going......almost what Sessions and Alexander did last night....

We might as well un-sticky this thread and wait for the rumblings on Bogut for Amare this weekend.
