Collison is gonna be a really really good change of pace guard off the bench for some team. I think the Spurs or Hawks, teams that have big SG's that score the ball well would benefit him.

I'd really like Evan Turner with the Miami pick right about now.

Dajuan Summers should get a look from MN in the mid lotto area. I like him more than Clark.
lots of intriguing perimeter scorers MN might be able to get in the later portion of the 1st round if they don't end up w/ Harden: dionte xmas, s curry, jodie meeks, maynor, mcneal, vaden, sam young and of course, ryan wittman

Do you guys remember TJ ford in college? He used to dominate games. Compair Lawson and Ford's college careers and you will realize that Lawson is gonna be bad.

Re: College players thread/ Draft Related thread
Holiday is not a wing.
He's a 6'4"(up from 6'3") pg who is playing the 2 next to Collison. He feels his future is at pg and wants to stay another year to get college pg experience under his belt. Of course, those plans could change but that is the latest. He can play the 2 but he's so unselfish I think he sees the game as an initiator/distributor...he has the demeanor for it...absolutely calm, not rash or impulsive. He's long and has the body to get thicker as he is already strong. He disrupts on D much like Baron did at UCLA.
He shut down 6'7" Derozan in the second half when he asked Ben to put him on DD. He will be a strong(physically) pg. VERY QUICK HANDS. GREAT ANTICIPATORY SKILLS.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jrue-Holiday-1108/ the report comparing Jrue's first step to Lawson or Jennings is silly as he is almost 3+" taller than either and Jennings is a waterbug type player.

I'm not catching your drift, TJ Ford is one of the better PGs in the NBA, he'd be a huge addition to our team.
PS time to update your sig, it should say:
McCants .321 3PT% + Foye .356 3PT% + Miller .354 3PT%
+
Al Jefferson
=
Death to our team.

Re: College players thread/ Draft Related thread
I think everyone here, or at least those pulling for us drafting Holiday see him as the perfect big PG to put next to Foye. We see him as a PG, not a wing. Him and Foye will partner together well. Plus Jrue's defense will help against the bigger shooting guards.
And TJ Ford, when healthy, is a fantastic point guard. He's not an all-star, but he's not garbage.
My perfect draft would go something like this... (Taking current rankings, which assumes, and I hope Utah keeps their pick, thus giving us another pick in 2010, when Utah will probably be worse due to losing Boozer, hopefully around 16th-18th)
7 - Jrue Holiday - PG/UCLA 6'4" 200
16 - I'm ok with any of the three smaller point guards here (Patrick Mills, Darren Collison, Ty Lawson)
27 - Jerome Jordan - C/TULSA 7'0"
Second round picks I'd like to see us take a shot at Greivis Vasquez, Vyacheslav Kravtsov, and Taj Gibson.
7 - Holiday is the perfect big point guard to match up with Foye, his defense would provide for a very interesting backcourt with Corey Brewer, and he's unselfish like Mike Miller. We could make for a great 3 man rotation with Foye, Holiday, and Brewer in the future.
16 - The smaller point guard becomes the change of pace point guard and back-up to Holiday. All three are very fast, Collison and Lawson provide explosive defense that leads to transition baskets.
27 - Jerome Jordan is an athletic 7 footer who plays defense, blocks shots, rebounds, and has some post moves. He's not quite a finished product, but his potential and willingness to work seems greater than DeAndre Jordan from last year.
Vasquez - Another big combo guard at 6'6".
Kravtsov - Completely fails the pronunciation test, so he'll suck hardcore, but he's supposed to be a good defender, and he's a legit 7 foot center. he can be stashed in Europe.
Gibson - Long, athletic, defends, rebounds, with a good shooting touch.
Then, Atlanta realizes that it can't sign Marvin Williams to the contract he wants and does a sign and trade with us for either Craig Smith/Ryan Gomes and Seabass Telfair. They get the back-up point guard they desperately need, someone who can push the tempo, and an inside threat in Craig Smith to help Horford, when Josh Smith slides to SF. Or Gomes becomes a Williams light for them. The trade obviously doesn't work in the trade checker with today's numbers, but due to sign and trade rules, plus the cap room we'll have, it's golden.
C - Jefferson/Jordan
PF - Love/Gomes
SF - Williams/Miller
SG - Foye/Brewer
PG - Holiday/Collison
Then we play a little game I like to call domination. devilz can coach, too.

Re: College players thread/ Draft Related thread
I know TJ Ford is pretty good, but I don't think he's one of the best PGs in the league. He lost his job to Jarret Jack so he can't be that good. Either way my point is that whoever compaired the two should look at how good TJ was in college. Then look at Lawson in college and they will realize that Lawson is prolly going to be at the end of someones rotation his whole career.
This year I think we need to invest two picks in the SG/SF position. Reason being is Love and Al have the big man spots locked up. Even tho we need a energy defensive big man to back those two up. We would be wise to find a guy who can dominate on the perimiter, because right now our offense stops at Foye and Al. We need all of our players to be able to score and right now Gomes can't create his own shot and neither can Carney. We need to draft someone who I thought McCants could have been.
Brandon Jennings is the only guy I would want at PG, because I'd rather not have a guy who is 6'4 at SG. For Jennings I'll take a small SG, because he's just that good.

The only problem I think, would be having a rookie PG and a rookie backup PG.

I agree with this, but I'm not sure who exactly at this early point in time.
The SGs and SFs I'm interested in are Harden, Summers, Young, Xmas, Derozan, Evans, and I like Terrence Williams, but I'm not sure if he has great offensive potential, just seems like a good all around player. But thats a group thats all over the board, MN should be able to easily come away w/ 2 of them.

I thought the same thing when posting it, but really Foye would get more time at the point than Collison would. It would be more of a 3 man rotation for the 1/2 spots between Foye, Holiday, and Brewer, with Miller getting some minutes at the 2 as well. Collison would probably get 12-15 MAX minutes. Then of course you have the option of bringing back a Kevin Ollie, or other veteran point guard who's on the cheap and can work with Holiday and Collison.
Of course I think those two rookie point guards wouldn't be your typical rookies. Collison is a senior, so that's 4 years of running Ben's system at UCLA, he's learned a lot. Plus, Holiday is very mature for being an 18 year old, very unselfish. I think he's really 52 years old. Lawson is like Collison, and Mills has ran the point for Australia's national team, so kind of that middle ground between college and the NBA.
But yeah, Kevin Ollie for the win.
Then in 2010 we have enough money to sign a max free agent and should be looking at a bulk of our money going to the center position.
Names potentially available in no particular order...
Amare Stoudamire
Tyson Chandler
Chris Bosh
Shaq O'Neal
Jermaine O'Neal
Marcus Camby
Brad Miller
Memo Okur
Ben Wallace
Darko Milicic
Eddy Curry
Brendan Haywood
Mark Blount
Etan Thomas
LaMarcus Aldridge
Obvously some of them due to opting out, and might not, others are RFA and could get an extension prior. Amare, Tyson, and Bosh are probably the three best case scenarios, with Tyson Chandler probably the only realistic option.
I've also been in favor of throwing money at Joe Johnson, but that would depend on the improvement of Holiday, Foye, and Brewer.

BTW, I want no part of Jennings. This offseason we NEED to address perimeter defense, Telfair 2.0 doesn't do that.
Besides, dunkonu21 likes him, so that means he'll prolly fall to our second round pick anyway. I kid... kinda.

Jeff Teague is a straight up baller, who doesn't get enough hype, and would look great in Twolves jersey.

A little bit on Jennings, and granted,,,maybe he'll change...
Jennings is the only player I've seen who makes an unselfish play, the assist, look like a selfish play. Example: at the Rucker tourney, he went in saying he wanted to break the assist record, and he continually jumped on his teammates when they,,,weren't where they were "supposed" to be, muffed his passes, or failed to finish.
Add to that, at 6' he plays ZERO defense. NADA

Jennings might be a solid player, but im not sure we should take him..
We are a young team, with pretty good charachter guys ( jeff, love, brew, gomes, foye) we don't need to add a hot head to the mix.
Id much rather add a quality player and guy, such as a cole aldrich, stephen curry, holiday, teague.....
stay away from guys like tyreke evans and jennings.
