Killing 3 birds with 1 stone!

Post#1 » by N-V-da-Green » Thu Jan 15, 2009 5:49 pm

We can all agree that this team needs a back up point some length on the wings and need some athletism. So with that said lets try to get Larry Hughes out of Chi Town. He is out of Chi Town rotation and only has 1yr left. I know he is injury prone but dude answers all our problems and if ya'll remember him in Washington his D was phemonial lead the leguage in Steals. Also he can guard the bigger points and 2's that we can plan on faces in the playoffs Orlando, AtL, LA. The only thing I can not find the right players to make it work. He can shot and create for himself in the Second unit he would be a big improvement compared to House and T A in the back court. So let me know what yall think............

Take a look at his contract before posting this kind of proposal please. We'd have to give up about six players outside of our starting 5 to even make the numbers work. Plus, Hughes has been an underperformer everywhere he's been.

It's just not worth considering guys in that price range unless they're very good starters, we don't have the contracts to make the trade unless either one of the Big 3 go (no way for Hughes) or we trade about 7 of our non-starters to get them adding up to contract value. The latter being impossible since Chi doesn't have the roster space and we have no way to get enough guys to field a team.

Ben Gordon would be the guy to go after from Chicago, though I doubt they'd be interested in what we could offer. But hey, they could have a hometown backourt with TA and Rose!
