A guy like Anderson Varejao has shown regardless of his contract he is going to give 100%. I think your team really needs his type that wants to get his nose dirty and play hardnosed basketball. Afterall didn't Mayo recently say that the Grizzlies need to get tougher? Varejao is one of those players where stats don't tell the whole stroy, like a PJ Brown. He may not get alot of points and his rebounding numbers aren't overwhelming but he alters a ton of shots, throws players off their game, grinds down players, reads the play developing well, and helps out on defense.
This is why he is my #1 guy. Can play PF or C. Goo 1 on 1 and good team defender. Goo hands. Does not need the ball.
I would love to get Varejao AND Millsap or Odom who I think is very underrated defensively. If Utah resigns Boozer they should be open to a sign and trade.
