Mike Conley to Wolves?

Post#1 » by Chance1117 » Sat Jan 17, 2009 8:12 am

This is from Sportsline.com It doesn't have much to back it up and doesn't say who we would be shipping out. I figured I read it everyone might want to check it out.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that a potential trade between the Memhpis Grizzlies and the Milwaukee Bucks is in the works, but there could be a hold-up on the Bucks' side.

The story said Memphis would like to send PG Mike Conley to Minnesota in exchange for both Ramon Sessions and Joe Alexander. Milwaukee appears to be considering the deal, but sources believe they could be reluctant to part with Alexander. Some believe Memphis is more interested in Sessions anyway, so it remains to be seen whether Alexander remains part of the bargain -- and, if not, whether that would be a deal-breaker.

Mike Miller maybe?

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=4932836

MIL GETS: Mike Miller
MEM GETS: Ramon Sessions + Joe Alexander + Damon Jones (Exp)
MIN GETS: Mike Conley + Darko Milicic

I don't know why Milwaukee would do it, though. It seems to me that their wing situation is pretty secure with Redd and Jefferson. Outside of Miller, however, I can't really see anyone on our roster that they would really want.

Strictly a misprint by whoever wrote it. It should say Milwaukee not Minnesota.

They are just being sarcastic, I think.

I think he mis-printed too, unless this is a follow-up to RealGM's article a couple weeks ago about Memphis looking to deal Mike Miller. All us mediocre, middle-America, M-teams all look the same.

On the off chances it's true, I'd prefer Sessions + Joe Alexander

actually I kinda like Miller to Mil.

They could run this lineup..

Bogut
RJ
Miller
Redd
Ridnour

Plus they still have CV off the bench. They have plenty of good players to cover the minutes at all the positions with their roster. I actually like the 3 man redd/jefferson/Miller rotation at the 2/3. Redd the primary at the 2, Jefferson the primary at the 3, miller as the remainder.

Maybe an expanded deal that sends them Miller + bassy + pf? I don't understand why Mil would want conley he hasn't shown much imo, and they have enough of a team to make some noise in the east. I don't think he helps them this year, or even next. Joe alexander doesn't either as far as I'm concerned. They should be looking for a solid vet 4, and a solid vet pg. Maybe swing a deal with GS and bring in turiaf off in at the 4? He'd look good next to these players.

Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Luke Ridnour, Damon Jones, Joe Alexander
Outgoing Players: Sebastian Telfair, Mike Miller, Craig Smith

Golden State Warriors
Incoming Players: Craig Smith
Outgoing Players: Ronny Turiaf

Milwaukee Bucks
Incoming Players: Sebastian Telfair, Mike Miller, Ronny Turiaf
Outgoing Players: Luke Ridnour, Damon Jones, Joe Alexander

GS part is simple smith for turiaf swap, they probably view Turiaf as a better player but he's just the defensive version of smith with a bigger less flexible contract.

Bassy and Ridnour are equals as far as I'm concerned, and by that I mean. I hate them both EQUALLY? Could probably work for all sides if a 4th team was brought in to chop up Ridnour or gadz contract to be two 3m yr contracts. MN abd MIL each take one, etc.

that trade does not do much for me..

btw I agree it is a misprint.

conley has clear talent but we need a big pg next to foye. an in-his-prime antonio daniels perhaps.

I can't imagine the Warriors wanting to swap Turiaf for Smith. Turiaf has been a great fit for them and I think he is one of their captains.
