He could've made more of his shots if they stopped giving it to him on the pick and roll or late in the shot clock.

And let me just say this...CDR at the 1...NO!

the fact we lost isn't bad

the fact we got killed isnt bad

the fact we didn't even TRY, there was 0 effort, everyone looked lethargic. its terrible. horrendous to watch. if you TRY and hustle good things are bound to happen.

CDR got into the lane at will but has no idea how to finish at the NBA level.

In hindsight it probably would have been smarter to sit Vince and Harris, they both don't look 100% right now.

I wish he could have let Dooling, Hayes, CDR and Brook play 4 on 5.

As much as I hate Frank as a head coach, these 2 and really all the starters with the exception of Brook deserved it.
If this was highschool I think they would be held out an additional game or at least come off the bench for one game due to their actions.
They basically came in and looked like they had been out drinking heavily the night before and conceded this one before it started.

The benching was an excellent move and it is obvious that it came with a message. Vince took it well and was cheering/giving advice from the bench. Hopefully this brings Devin back down to earth a little bit as he has lost a lot of focus on the court. His defense has been extremely inconsistent with brilliant plays mixed in with blow-bies (how are you supposed to spell that?) and that is largely because he allows himself to play D while standing straight up instead of getting in a good stance.

His turnovers have increased, Not just turnovers from pushing the ball upcourt but from just being careless. He is also pressing a too much offensively.

It's not like he has given no effort but rather he has become so hot and cold lately and he isn't focusing on the other areas of his game.

A fellow Filipino, who watched the game live, posted this in a Philippine forum.

I watched the game at the Izod Center earlier today, and I have come to one conclusion... VC is still this team's leader.

When both VC and Devin were benched in the second half, VC did not let this get to his head. He watched the game very intently and had very animated reactions to the referees' calls. He was the first to leave the bench to give his teammates high fives every timeout, and was always in the center of the huddle. Although, he was never let back into the game, he kept this attitude throughout the rest of the game.

Devin, on the other hand, sat at the end of the bench and did not pay much attention to the game. During timeouts, he half-heartedly joined the huddle by standing outside the circle. The few times that he actually looked at Frank in the huddle, he was not really listening, as evidenced by his occasional glancing at the spectators.

I don't know if Devin was just having a really bad day, but his immediate reaction to the benching disappointed me. As for VC, I was really surprised that he was still enthusiastic and very much supportive of his teammates. Honestly, I didn't expect that kind of positive energy to come from VC. As for Devin, his lack of maturity definitely showed. I hope VC's attitude today eventually rubs off on Devin.

I wonder though if Vince is really healthy enough to play. In the 1st quarter vs. Boston, he was guarded by Scalabrine in the perimeter on 2 different plays. Instead of taking advantage of the switch and taking it to the hoop, he elected to shoot a fadeaway on both occasions. Nobody in his right mind would say that VC can't blow past the former Net.

Anyway, I'm happy to know that he still cares for the team notwithstanding his awful showing in this 4-game losing skid. I fervently hope that he gets out of that shooting slump especially with the upcoming 4-game road trip.

VC forever!

In New Jersey Lawerence Frank had the balls to bench Vince Carter and Devin Harris for the second half in a game against the NBA Champion Celtics in a sold out Meadowlands Arena....

Come on Frankie boy, don't get stupid here son. Don't get it twisted here. This is Devin and Vince's show not your's my friend!

That was dumb and risky if you ask me. As many games as Vince and Devin have pulled out of Frank's rear this year for him making him look good and he does this? You better be careful Mr Frank...

You are the coach, but you are not the show. You have not coached long enough in the league and have enough NBA rings for you to have the authority to pull that crap. Yes you got to an NBA Finals but remember it was with Jason Kidd, Jefferson and Carter and others running the show, not you!

Now I am not stupid. I understand a coaches perrogative to bench his star's if they are not in his view giving them all they had. That can be subjective and they could have had the flu and Boston could have been hot.

But whatever the reason, you better be careful benching then the entire half. It depends on the situation and the team they are playing. What message was he trying to send playing the Celtics!?

If he was benching them against the Oklahoma Thunder on the road or in front of a small crowd, that is one thing. I can see that. But to sit them against the NBA Champ Celtics and in front of a sellout crowd who came to see them...and not you coach!....You better be careful dummy!

LOL....this is not about you and your coaching my friend. That crowd did not come to see you man.
That took some balls! You better hope this does not cost you your job. Carter says he is cool with it, but he is lying....so is Devin.

Come on now...man. Be Honest with me here. You mean to tell me you are playing the Celtics and it is a sellout crowd and you are sitting for an entire half while you scrubs playing in place of you are getting their ass whupped and you have to sit and take it all in....and you are 'cool with that!?'

Come on now...Vince...If any player is ok with that...I don't know. I am all about the team but me and that coach would have to have a little chat after that. When Skiles does that to Redd or Bogut then that is different...NEITHER ONE OF THEM ARE STARS...LIKE CARTER AND HARRIS.

Watch your step Mr Frank!

Not for nothing, but for everyone applauding VC for the way he handled the situation, I think you are highly miscontrued.
It was definitely a good thing what he did, but anyone who thinks he was truely alright with it is crazy. IMO, there is no way he was happy with the situation and the only reason he was even alright eith it is because he is playing hurt and probably figured, oh well, let me get some much needed rest in a blowout that we have little to no chance coming back from.

For those down on the way Devin handled it, what do you expect?

At the time it happened, I was semi-OK with what happened because I was disgusted, but in hindsight it might not have been a very good move.

Benching them to start the half, maybe even the entire 3rd would have been alright, but it was a bold and little bit anger and ego influenced move.

Then again we don't know what happened behind closed doors during the half.

The only thing I can say is, God I hope this gets Opie fired! YES!!!!
