An inch plus or minus in height is irrelevant. There are so many other factors, like reach, strength, wingspan, etc.

I like Bill Walker a lot. i hope we can keep him. he is all over the damn court when he's out there. usually for the better, but sometimes for the worse. when he starts learning to cut down on the worse (ie flagrant fouls, dumb turnovers, etc) he's going to be good. but he won't be great until he gets a nice jumper from 20. will he get that? i dunno. some do, some don't.

I still think Giddens has more upside. similar strength, more lateral quickness, slightly less size. also extremely active. but much more able to create his own shot, and has a nice outside stroke. too bad we haven't seen much of him because of his wrist injury.

I hope we can keep both guys. I don't want to trade them unless it's for a quality vet who fills a need.

^ Yeah it definitely a double edges sword with the guy. On the one hand he plays really hand, but on the the other hand I'm starting to get worried he is going to do something really stupid on the court. I thought he got lucky to only get a flagrant on that play on Anderson today.

I didn't think they called a flagrant foul on that play...I also think that NJ came out and was determined to be physical in this game because of the lopsided loss previously. Boston lost a lot of that "tough guy" type play when Posey went down and it was he who would give the hard foul when needed.

I think that if Walker focuses his fouls in the right situations it will be an asset to the team. Posey got quite a few T's in his formative years - but he didn't let the refs quell the attitude within. In time, those hard fouls because a part of his repertoire. I encourage Bill to stay physical.

Neither of his fouls involved much body contact and neither foul resulted in any hits below the elbow, let alone whole arm. They were physical fouls with enough plausibility to sell as going for the ball...we could use an SOB on this team - if he works on picking his spots, I'm all about it...

Bill, I can´t agree with you. Walker fouled really really hard poor Ryan Anderson. Not once but twice.
But I think it has more to do with his eagerness to play, that leads him to be out of control, than just being a punk. He is not at ease right now. You could tell it just watching his first FGA. He was totally out of sync.

But I love this. It's obvious he cares.

On the other hand, I was frustrated with POB's performance against Lopez. POB seems to play without a heart.

Both games he was head hunting. Hopefully, he learns to play under control. I do like his passion which is missing from the second unit except from Powe. They talk and too much and do not back it up with physical play.

I love the way Bill Walker approaches the game. He's clearly focused, determined and certainly willing to play physical ball. But frankly, I think he needs to reel himself in a bit with the hard fouls, there is a line between establishing yourself as a physical player in the NBA vs. establishing yourself as a dirty player and I believe Bill is basically toeing that line with a lot of these plays he's making. As billfrom pointed out he needs to pick his spots better, but I'd say he needs to pick his spots much better, rather than constantly trying to prove he's the baddest dude on the court. Which, in his favor, he tends to be, I mean he's clearly a Great athlete and physical specimen, he's in better shape than earlier in the year for sure. I think he has a ton of potential but he'd do well to tone it down a bit on the hard foul business and just focussing on setting the right defensive tone (which he has been doing). I believe he can help the team defensively but he needs to play smart and limit mistakes. Tech's and flagrants from a marginal rotation player are nice from an intimidation standpoint but I'm not sure it wins you ballgames at this point.

Not to go on about an over-done subject but i think Posey would have been a great guy for Bill to learn from

Walker's dunk at the end of the Phoenix game was sick! Two phoenix players colliding while he reverse slams from behind the backboard. 8-)

Hell yeah, I want to see more of Walker!

But he'll need to show he can play some defense before Doc gives him any real burn.

I wish Doc had the conifdence to throw him out there with the starters sometimes...

He could easily take off Pierce or Ray, have the usual starters take on most of the load but he could find himself uncovered and make some amazing plays if what we've seen of him so far is any indication
