amare for bosh?
raptor fan posting here
I am thinking this trade really works out for both teams it shakes things up and bosh at least gives an effort on D.
as for my beloved raps they are a mess... bosh just can't do anything against KG or the frigging cavs... this trade gives great value for you guys for amare, and the fact some of you are considering amare for okafor... just shows how much amare can't play well in this current system... shaq + okafor frontcourt would have no space to operate cause okafor can't shoot a jumper to save his life, where as bosh has one of the best jumpshots for a big man.

Re: amare for bosh?
I would definately do that deal but I doubt it happens, Bosh is a superstar, Amare on the other hand...Well you get the point. Amare has been acting like headcase lately, he wants to be "the man" and "feared" but does nothing to back it up, he still doesn't give an effort on defense, rebounding, etc. All he does is want to score. A more realistic trade would be Amare for J-O'neal and a 2010 first rounder or something like that (maybe the Raptors throw in some fillers also or something)

Re: amare for bosh?
i don't think Bosh is significantly better than Amare as Maryvale is suggesting(come on, O'Neal for Amare?), but I still don't think Toronto would do this trade. Bosh is younger, healthier, and generally seen as having less of an ego.

I'd say we should try to really make it happen..That maybe the best person to trade Amare for...I cant think of anyone else at the same position, with around the same talent. Only other option on an Amare trade is 'Sheed.

It'd be kind of odd for us to just swap star PF's...

Yeah Maryvale, Amare is a trash player. He sucks!!!! Wait a second, has bosh made the all first team nba????? Oh, never mind.
Gotta love all the Amare haters out there. True fans ya know. Anyways, about the deal. With this team, it would be hard to say no to this deal. I still think Amare is one of the best PF in the game. Better then Bosh. However, I think Bosh would work well with this team since Shaq is here and doing well.
I would say I am 50.25% for this trade. But this is not a need for this team. We need a backup PG and big man on this team. That is our needs, not trading Amare.
Who the hell is saying Okafor for Aamare??? That is a horrible trade man.

Eastside, I think it was actually Amare for Okafor + Felton.
...and there is an arguement there.
But with Marion a possibility in Toronto... I doubt BC would want Amare and Shawn there at the same time.
Marion + Bosh could be interesting.

On Steve Nash:

I think I'm the one who proposed that deal, so I'd like to know why you think it's horrible. In fact, I think Charlotte would turn it down; Larry Brown doesn't want a me-first, no defense/no rebounding guy like Amare on his team.

amare for okafor and felton is a horrible trade. Felton not a pg, he is a short sg who can't shoot. Okafor limitations on offense seriously makes him a role player, who gets garbage baskets and blocks shots... he is bascially dalembert/biedrines.. to trade a player of amare's potential for okafor and felton is like when the magic traded tmac for francis and mobley.

Re: amare for bosh?
I was thinking about this as well.
Lets just get one thing bloody clear: Amare is clearly more offensively gifted than Bosh.
Amare has a better jump shot. Amare is a power finisher. Amare has all the tools to be the best PF in the game hands down. A tough cover through and through.
However, Bosh is not big headed. Bosh rebounds with consistent effort. Bosh plays his heart out more often than not. Bosh has a very crafty, finesse game.
Both are not guys you want shooting the ball for you in the clutch. Both guys are horrible defenders. Both guys are not franchise players. Bosh is a choke job, while Amare is a choke job with his head in his butt. Statistically, they give you the same numbers (especially this season for Amare)
That being said, while Bosh is younger, the team with Amare wins the trade. He has had too many good games as an offensive threat to not aknowledge that he is a beast offensively. You also have to wish that Amare will mature and act like a leader, thats means play his heart out, be determined and rebound the ball. Do things other than scoring off the pick and roll...Develop a post game, a better face to the basket game, and provide the intagibles when your shots arent going in...

Amare's "potential"? What potential? He's in his SEVENTH SEASON. He's almost 27 years old. People still talk about him like he's a young guy, but this is it.
I think a Dalembert/Biedrins addresses a need on this team, far moreso than Amare's complete ineffectiveness on that end does.

Re: amare for bosh?
rsavaj, he hasn't even peaked yet. That is the point what people are talking about. Plus, he missed a year. Again, that is a horrible trade to char. This trade would make us worst then we are now.
I think |||-Abaddon-||| got it right with his take.
But I if I could do a trade for Bosh and some other peices, I would do it. I think if you want BC to bite, your going to have to give up Mr Canada in the trade too. I think bosh would fit better along side shaq now since Porter has messed this thing up. He was a beast last year.
It just shows how MD's mind was perfect for this team and Porter has had not affect on D and is making our players worst on both sides of the ball.

You really think he's going to add more to his repertoire in the next 7 years than he did in the first 7? He's had 7 years to learn how to play with his back to the basket; 7 years to at least start TRYING on defense.
I don't know what you've seen out of him that has you convinced that his next 7 years will see him grow into a complete, well-rounded "star" player.

Re: amare for bosh?
This is a terrible trade for Toronto, because Amare is straight-up not worth it.
Bosh isn't the same caliber of scorer as is Amare, but he's a good scorer who also draws fouls at a similar rate and is a comparable shooter (better at the line). Comparable rebounder, better defender, better passer, none of the ego/effort issues...
There's no incentive for the Raptors to make that trade. More importantly, we don't really run, so Amare's game would be somewhat inhibited.
And I'm with rsavaj... Amare's made his improvements. His jumper will continue to improve, but he's never going to be a good defender, a dominant rebounder or a nasty backdown scorer.
He's looked basically the same for the last 3 full seasons now, he's definitely peaking. He has the POTENTIAL to improve, but potential and realized potential are very, VERY different things. Amare lacks a lot of the attitude necessary to be a truly epic, legendary player.

Re: amare for bosh?
you sun fans are going through what we raptor fans went through with VC before he got traded. He was a beast til the the management pissed him off, so he started to play like he was in the wnba to get traded. Same thing here with porter making this shaq's team... even though amare is coming off one of his best seasons. I've seen amare play lackluster and it is frustrating but if he ever get's his head on straight he would be alot better then bosh, he just has so much more natural talent. Right now he is not giving any effort and still putting up 20 and 9(bosh has to play hard to get those same numbers, and he doesn't have shaq clogging up the lane, bosh has already peaked as a player)... I would be willing to take the risk of a rejuvinated amare in Toronto then the bosh we have right now...BC would be getting a steal if he got amare for bosh
I am still shocked that any of you would consider okafor and felton for amare a good trade... it just doesn't make sense... shaq needs a big man who can shoot a mid range juimper consistantly so he doesn't get doubled or tripled. In miami he had haslem, lakers he had horry and horace grant... you know how bad your offense will be with okafor and shaq?

Honestly, our offense isn't the problem; it's never been the problem.

Re: amare for bosh?
Shaq can still score, and our guards and small forwards can score. Okafor and Felton would be a good trade because we need a legit backup point guard and an above average post defender.
