The Renaming of the Hammer Award

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Sun Jan 18, 2009 5:54 pm

So we up and trade our trademark Hammer (Matt Carroll) away. Someone has suggested that we get Morrison to come up with something. Can I make a suggestion? Instead of identifying our award with a player who might be traded, why not come up with something related to the Bobcats?

I suggest the SLASH! award.

The artwork could be a diagonal cat slash on team colored background with gold, silver, or bronze oozing out like blood. Maybe, pair gold with our pacific blue, silver with orange, and bronze with black.

Steve, you'll need to do any artwork... I suck at making that stuff up. But I can see it in my head.

Has anyone else given this any thought? If so, top my idea!

Claw on!

see the talk in the hammer sticky thread. i think we all thought it would be cool to keep the award named hammer. but of course, if the majority want it changed, thats fine.

i think we should just stick with the hammer award....first its a great nickname plus if you change the name every time a player gets traded this award is going to have a lot of names....and third that sh*t is going to make a great trivial question one day...how did the hammer award get its name?...hah good stuff

SLASH! award makes me think of the Slashie (slashy?) award from Zoolander, which makes me laugh.

The Bobcats are making changes, we shouldn't. Keep the awards. Matt would have wanted it that way.
