JUVENTUS

Manninger: 6.0- Was solid between the posts once again and could do nothing about the two goals that beat him tonight.

Molinaro: 7.0- Did his job effectively and without any fuss but was troubled by Shevchenko a couple of times in the second half.

Mellberg: 7.0- The no nonsense defender stood tall and proud and won everything in the air that came his way tonight.

Chiellini: 8.0- Was a tower of power on the backline and chipped in with a great downward header to give his team a lead they never relinquished.

Grygera: 7.0- The Czech defender pushed forward at will and did not let Jankulovski trouble him at all tonight

Nedved: 6.0- Had to leave the match with a muscle problem but will nonetheless enjoy the final result.

Marchisio: 8.0- He plays in the mould of former legend Marco Tardelli and his confidence is growing with every passing match. A ground breaking performance tonight..

Sissoko: 8.0- Juve’s midfield general directed traffic and set up Amauri’s second goal with a nice through ball.

Marchionni: 7.0- His set pieces were effective and did well patrolling the right flank this evening.

Del Piero: 8.0- The Juve captain rolled back the years this evening slotting home a high pressure penalty to open the scoring and was unlucky not to hit his brace as he smashed a shot against the post in the second half.

Amauri: 8.0- The big man threw his weight around upfront and was rewarded with two goals. Might have been the signing of the summer as he has been astounding this season.

SUBS: De Ceglie (30”) 8.0, Zanetti (88”) NA, Iaquinta (89”) NA

yeah, De Ceglie and Marchisio had great games which is huge for Juve and their future.
Marchisio = another thing that makes buying Poulsen look even more stupid.

yeah, i was pretty impressed by marchisio.

and what magik pointed out, juve looks like they are having fun and that they have no pressure on them and that sure is reflecting in how they are playing.

if you see del piero you would never think he is on the verge of retirement.

and i love how chielline and mellberg play CB!!!

Juve play Chelsea and should be quite a match up considering Juve have the tools to cause an upset.

upset? let's remember who finished first and their group, and who finished second
:D

Ranieri gets to face his old club. I feel as if we can win, but it sure will be tough.

yeah, i don't think that juve winning could be an upset.

i say juve will tie in london and win in turin. del piero will make them suffer.

well, favorites and underdogs are not determined by seedings, they are determined by overall public perception which determines the betting lines. entering into the game overwhelming majority see chelsea as the favorites, thus juventus going through would be an upset.

i think it is going to be very close matchup, but i have a feeling chelsea will pull through at the end.

Well I don't see Chelsea containing Juve away from home and so they have to win big at Stamford Bridge to have a good chance. Cannot rule it out though Chelsea have been a fighting team and you need to credit them for that.

game today is big with Inter's tie at home vs Siena!!

Chiellini is probably not going to play and that always worries me. I feel he is by far the most important player on the team. Also we'll heave to wait another week or two to see Buffon back again.

On Tuesday they lost a friendly to Monaco...Freddie Adu drew a penalty kick and Iaquinta tied the game up in the last minute. We lost in pks, only 3 were taken by each team..De Ceglie was the only one to miss lol

Juve ties Lazio 1-1. Manninger made a big mistake on their goal, but they came out a lot harder than us. Amauri was marked tightly but didn't do much to make himself free. I wish they won becuase Inter lost today, we could have been 1 point behind them instead of 3

well they got lucky against Fiorentina when they called Gila's goal offside, but they at least played well that game. Today they got outplayed by Udinese and are now 6 points behind Inter again. :banghead:
