Post#1 » by TonyMontana » Mon Jan 19, 2009 4:44 pm

Okay Mangs for peps that dont have NBA league pass, it free until the 25th.
Enjoy.
Go Lakers........

My e-mail inbox is happy to report that a free preview of NBA League Pass TV will be available Mon., Jan. 19 through Sun., Jan. 25 allowing you, the fans, to watch the NBA's televised out-of-market NBA games. (Raptors-Pistons game, anyone? No? Really? Fine.) During the preview NBA League Pass Stats Central, a channel dedicated to displaying real-time updates including scores and stats of every game, will also be available. So there you go, 39 games in five nights. I hope you own a home theater recliner.

If it's online, that's great. I wonder how the quality is and if it lags or not.

The quality is great and it does not lag at all. I had this last season (the internet version, Im from Spain) since it was free from the start of the season until march or so and it was really nice.

They don't broadcast games that are on national tv /your local area tv though.

this year's LP sucks with the flash video. Last season was pretty good with the WMP interface. I ended up buying it after the free preview expired. Smart decision considering we'd just got pau Gasol at that time. :D

NBA LP is available for half the price now. Just in case anyone's interested and hasn't got it yet!

If you're a local angelino and a laker fan like myself, leaguepass can be a bit frustrating. this was the first year i signed up for it since past years i could get the laker games for 'free' on foxsports or kcal9. i got leaguepass so i could watch the games when i wasn't home in la. i'm a basketball fan but i would rather play than sit around every night watching games and in the end, if there was any game i would want to watch, it would be laker games. due to blackout rules i ended up missing 10 games live. i had to wait until i home returned to watch them. i was told on the phone from a directv customer service person that i could change my address once i traveled to trick the system so i could watch the laker games via broadband. this is not true. my recommendation is to get the slingbox or a similar device. this has been helpful for the games that aren't televised. as a local, we're pretty lucky to get all the laker road games for 'free' in hd on channel 9 and the home game coverage on fox sports. diatribe over.
