What about a trade of Amare and RoLo to Portland for Aldridge, Bayless, and LaFrentz's contract?

This gets the Suns their future point guard and a starting PF to replace Amare. And it gives Portland a very potent combo of Roy and Amare on offense, with Oden making up for Amare's defensive limitations.

His 'talent' on one end of the court is being completely negated and overwhelmed by his incompetence at the other end.

But my point is that big men don't grow on trees, so even with Amare's deficiencies, you don't just trade him away if you're not getting at least a star in return.

If we trade Amare:

We can get better deals from Chicago in both aspects. However, i don't see a need for Nash with Chicago since they have Rose.

A couple of BETTER trades with Chicago for Amare:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=

And just for $h!t$ and giggles here's a Nash and Amare to Chicago deal that's better than either deal you proposed.....

lol Kerr would be GM of the decade if he pried Rose away from Chicago; he's literally untradeable, that's how good the guy can be.

Give what time? You do realize he's been in the league just about 7 years now. He is what he is. An undersized PF who can score, but has a sh*tty basketball IQ and lacks the will to sacrifice his ego for the betterment of his team. Can't forget the uncanny ability to collect fouls and get dominated by offensive players.

+1.

In answer to the original question, I believe the answer is a resounding yes.

A defensive-minded 4 man, a la Okafor. Or just a "best player available" type of thing, but w/o Diaw, it needs to be a big unless Porter wants to get a Marion type of four(Gerald Wallace)

Nuggets aren't trading a younger, more effective Billups for Nash.

Billups is good, but I live up here in Denver and watch this team. I do not see what most see in his game. He takes bad shots, but what he does is give more shots to the other guys. AI took that away. He does play D, but he didn't even play D on nash and when he did, he did not stop him in that game.

Hes the type of player you need on this team since porter and kerr are heading up this no fun team that is only going to get worse over time.
