The 2009 Dunk comp.

Post#1 » by kam_soluusar » Mon Jan 19, 2009 7:23 pm

So Howard is there as defending champ, fair enough. but Rudy Gay and Nate Robinson do NOT deserve to be there. Nate "Ill have 20 attempts before I hit the dunk" Robinson has been there the last what, four consecutive years. How about giving someone else a go. Gay had his shot last year, and came up short. Why weren't us Rockets fans voting for Landry or Von Wafer??????? I now A/S Weekend is not that important, still.........

A "taken seriously" dunk competition is a "not-so-much fun" dunk competition.

If the league took it seriously they would throw some new competition up against Dwight Howard and not the same guys from previous years

I would argue that Carter has had his time, but I will concede Lebron, and Iguodala.

Really, I am more annoyed that Robinson is in it. what a crock!!!!!!!!

Howard won Last years, because he was by far, the most superior dunker, (and the year before that as well, but he got shafted!) But he had no competition. Seriously, what crack were they smoking when they put Robinson in again. David Lee would do a better job than him!

Actually, when was the last time a white man was in the Dunk comp, Scooter Barry?

I'm very disappointed with the dunk contest selections. You can tell they're running out of ideas when they resort to the "fans, you choose the final contestant!" approach.

Yeah, I'm not even interested in this one at all. I'm not expecting much this year, hopefully I'm wrong.

same for Carter
but they can sure jump and they can really throw it down hard
Green's dunk doesn't have the explosiveness

What? How can it be lame with Kenny Smith screaming "OHHHHH THE DUNK CONTEST IS BACK!!!! OHHHH!" It's not like he does it every year or anything. (which, you know, if he did, would really help the perception that "no, it's not")

Take the damn announcers out of it and just put a soundtrack on until the judges are up. There isn't anything they can be thinking/saying 99% of the time that I need/want to hear and don't already know just by watching.

Yeah, people underestimate how slippery the hardwood is, even when you're wearing shoes.
