That was the only thing worth while about this game. Blatche to the line needing to make 2 fts after he had gone 1 for 2 all night.

First one - in
Second - clutch

That is the type of mental growth he needs.

If he only rebounded tonight, he would have had a really nice game.

McGee got a ton of rebounds 6 in 11 mins, but just looks so awkward out there. 2 fouls and clumsy.

NY lost his hot touch.

Crit did nothing special.

DMAC needs to shoot more.

Terribly ugly game though.

We had to play CB and AJ 44 and 42 mins to squeak out a win against SAC. That's sad.

Well for what I wanted, he did a good bit of it.

1-2 blocks (he got 1), 3-4 assists he got (3), 15 shots ( only 10 ) but he got to the line more then I was asking 6 ft ( he got 8 made 6), pts at 20 is good but rebounds at 3 is lacking. I also wanted 30 mins but he only played 26 and was in a little foul trouble ending with 5.

Overall he accomplished a lot but the low rebounding is what really stands out.

Blatche's rebounding totals tonight were a bit of an anomaly I think. Most of the game (outside of the last 2 minutes or so) we had 2-3 guys right there for every rebound, Blatche included. When you've got a guy with the hops of McGuire and a ballhawk like Jamison, rebounds will be hard to come by. As long as we severely out rebound them like we did tonight, there's nothing to be worried about.

Frankly, this win doesn't really do much for me, but considering OKC won too, I don't really mind. Still don't see the point in burning AJ and CB out, and would have liked to see more from NY obviously. I wish our defense was better so Blatche could stay out of foul trouble.

I was noticing how ripped McGee is. Looks like he works out regularly already.

I wouldn't be surprised if he add 7-10 pounds of muscle over the offseason.

In 2-3 years he should be very strong. Kid is going to be a beast.

I think it has to be up in the 15-20 pound range. He certainly has the frame. He has to work REALLY hard all offseason. Athletically, for a 7 footer he has Dwight Howard comparison. If he adds some lean muscle on that frame and is able to get stronger, He WILL be a beast.

Only way to put on that kind of muscle in one off-season is roids.

7-10 lbs is achievable in one off season. We may even find out he comes back next year at 7-1. Mom says he is still growing. We may not want him much taller then that or he may end up having a really hard time being coordinated or end up with knee problems. With his wing span and leaps, he is tall enough as it is.

This really annoyed me and on a larger scale, it just doesn't seem like Caron trusts his (younger)teammates yet.

That's a good point. From the comments he's made after several games over the last few weeks, it's clear he's blaming his problems on the young guys. When he says things like - These young guys wouldn't be playing if it wasn't for injuries, it doesn't exactly come under the category of nurturing. After last night's game, he basically blamed his slump on trying to adjust to the new players.

Of course that is true. The only one who is a starter quality right now is Blatche. DMAC for all the good he is doing is still an off the bench player but his improving offense is bring him closer to someone who can start.

But those are the only 2 starting right now. The others like NY would still be playing but off the bench which they are doing. Same wtih Crit. But that is what this season is about. Getting them better so he should be a part of making that happen.

It was great that Blatche had a chance to ice the game. You grow through game time experiences like that. I remember the first few last second shots GA took. It was only after he made a few that he got that swagger of knowing he could do it. This is how you grow up in the NBA.

This team is just hurting not having a starting quality PG or SG and an out of position center.
That's missing a lot. Hopefully EG does something to move some pieces around. The biggest deal is figuring out what to do with GA. I still don't know if he is better as our PG or our SG and whichever he is, we need to find the other. NY is not a starting quality SG yet.

This is why we need to see GA on the court. We need to find out what game he will play. If it's what he had when he left, move him to SG and get a vet PG. We need someone mature to run this offense and give this team some structure. Someone like Kidd. That would be the best thing to help the youngsters grow and to help the vets get the ball where they are most effective. That kind of PG will also balance how much the ball goes to the post. We need a coach on the court and anyone that is honest about it wouldn't call GA a coach on the court. This has been our #1 problem forver and it's why I have been calling for a vet PG for so long.

AD was that kind of player and we saw how it could help some last year. Problem there was he was to warn down already and we had no one to back him up. We need an AD-like player but healthier and a little better shooter.

McGee looks completely lost on offense. His instinct is to set high screen and rolls but he just doesn't have the hands or the handles finish those at an NBA level. So after setting a meaningless picks he either just stands around trying not get in the way, or takes about 15 seconds to establish positioning down low, which by then someone has already made a move and is about to take a shot and he's out of position for the rebound.

It's pretty tough finding him a role in a set half court offense, which is probably why he's not getting any minutes. He isn't skilled enough to do anything with the ball on the high post like Blatche, and he isn't strong enough to establish positioning on the low post. I think the only real contribution that he can make on offense is to hustle down the floor and set baseline screens for Jamison, Butler, and young. Baseline screens allow him to not clutter up the perimeter and keeping him in decent position to grab an offensive rebound.
