Larry Hughes is a very good one on one defender. The rest of the Bulls fans don't want to admit it but when he wants to he can play some tremendous defense. Rewind to the last Bulls Nets game when he was hounding Harris giving him no space to move. He's a good slasher and when he's hot he's hot can score 30 on any given night. He's the type of player that produces in the right situation and trust me he will produce well if given 35 mins a night with you guys. He always guards the opposing teams best perimeter threat and does a pretty good job. He doesn't fit in with Chicago and he's putting up per 48 minute averages of 23 points, 5 ast and 6 rebs with 3 steals. Play him and you'll get the benefits. He can play the PG/SG/SF positions effectively. His only problem is forcing some shots but i think Lawrence Frank will do a great job of making him cut those out because he most likely won't be playing limited minutes which is why he rushes shots because he know he will be out of the game soon.. I for one would rather trade him somewhere else because he will definetly secure you guys a playoffs spot which means we won't be getting it.

I made a simlar trade for Hughes about 2 weeks ago and I believe my trade made more sense than this trade. I don't see them wanting Simmons with a 2 years contract over 10 mill. They don't save that much money at at all and it doesn't even make them flexible for next year. They just save a few mill. Which is like 20 bucks in the NBA. As for acquiring SWAT, it does not make sense at all for their team when they have Noah, and Thomas. I'm not complaining, about this trade, I just dont see chicago doing this trade. I think they would rather have expiring contracts than Simmons 2 years.

Larry Hughes is significantly worse than Bobby Simmons. If this trade goes down you guys will see what I'm talking about...

Some of you may want him now but you won't later. Dude's got no conscience, shot, or defense, and isn't much of a team player.

All the players in this deal chug arse. But as long as we all accept this and have no qualms about it, we'll all be fine.

If Larry Hughes plays to his strengths and within the Nets system, you'll like him. But he won't. So you won't.

Another update from a Bulls insider:

http://www.rumorpress.net/

Reports out of New Jersey have stated a trade that would send Larry Hughes to New Jersey for Bobby Simmons and Maurice Ager is close to being done. This rumor is very true as talks between the teams have really heated up in the last 48 hours. In fact, General Manager John Paxson has already agreed on the trade, the only hold up is a Nets approval of the deal. It’s a surprising deal because several other teams have shown interest in Hughes. We all know Hughes has been a distraction to the team, but if the Bulls can wait it out a little longer, they could definitely find better value for the Forward. It seems, though, that Paxson is set on trading Hughes as soon as possible. For that reason, look for this trade to go down as soon as the Nets agree, which there are no guarantees they will.

You will hate this guy. He has a rediculous sense of entitlement, and will huck up random shots whenever he feels like it. Seriously, he did it when playing along side LeBron, and he did it when the Bulls were trying to develop Rose. He will hurt players like Vince Carter by ruining possessions with ill advised shots.

He does play pretty good defense though. Gets his hands on a lot of balls.

I think most of us know this...its pretty much common knowledge...I dont see this situation being depicted as some fans "wanting" him in NJ...

...the Nets are saying to themselves..."what if..." If the Nets agree to this trade, and it turns out to be a bust, the Nets go into damage control...bench Larry, see if he responds, if he doesnt, Ryan, Hayes CDR get more time, ect...which the Nets probably look at as a win win...and thats that...

Last time Larry was in a contract year he was playing for the Wizards...correct me if I'm wrong, but he had a pretty serious year that season...So if the Nets roll the dice, it starts out temporary, a so-called trial run...where Hughes has to prove himself to the Nets...thats the bottom line...

But Larry < Bobby...I dunno...thats a stretch...

I am not saying one is better then the other.

WIth the way Frank is coaching this team, we need a better perimeter defender.

This half zone nonsense isnt working.

Not a damn thing. I'm assuming people are just gonna send feelers out for the next week. Things should pick up again around early Feb.

Honestly if something happened, I'd support it, but I'm holding my breath. As much as watching Simmons and Hassell kill me sometimes, I'd be more disappointed if we couldn't clear a roster spot of another PG

Who said that? Yeah I like the guy but hell he can't play PG in the NBA. Not even for 10 minutes a game. If Lawrence Frank was Phil Jackson and we ran the triangle I'd be throwing chairs, but few a few minutes a game, I'm all for bringing JC in.

I know we need another guard, but I don't want the team getting no part of Steve Francis. So many times teams think: "This guy was a scorer just a few years ago. He just needs another chance.". I just don't think he's got anything to offer anymore.
