Kings vs Wiz: The Battle For Last Place

Which team will prevail(lose)?

Will Brad Miller lead us to glory again or will Thompson mess it up with another double-double?

This is bad news bears. Watching this game, I can see that we are truly that bad. Also, I have come to realize that the reason why we are so bad is because petrie is suckin nuts at getting rid of miller.

Honestly, a young team that has Martin, Hawes, Thompson, Garcia all playing 30+ minutes has a better chance of winning than miller and moore getting in and messing it all up. I hate to just trade those guys away for packages that are worth less than the player (ie bibby and artest trades) but we honestly need to.

Our team should look like this next year barring everything going right.

Our 1st pick/Beno/Brown
Martin/Garcia
trade?/Garcia/Greene
Millsap?/Thompson/Williams
Hawes/Williams?

A possible trade would include Salmons, Miller, Hou's 1st, Moore, and Thomas. If we could get a SF out of it that could be a great defender or a possible 1st option I would be ecstatic. OR we could add Thompson and get a PF. I would prefer to get a SF though, cause that spot would still have to get filled.

I kinda got off the game, but it's a terrible game, so what's the point.

Got close towards the end but then all hope was crushed. I feel like this team is just a big tease.

We lose to the worst team in the East, a team with a worse record than us, AT HOME! We truly are a horrible team.

I predict we will end up with the worst record in the league and will get the #4 pick.

I remember the times when Eastern teams came to Sacramento with a mindset of losing here. *sigh* Good times...

I would laughing my *** off if somehow we didn't obtain a a top 4 pick. And the other team (like Portland from last year) manage to get a high pick.

And I would be furious.

Moore sucks, but Miller does not. He is not a # 1 option but you can't win in the NBA with 4 guys in their 2nd year in the league. 2 of them can't even drink beer (Hawes and Greene). You need a veteran big veterans to lead. Why is Martin starting? Because he is the best veteran guard. The old Kings team once had 4 first round draft picks and everyone thought wow these guys will all grow up together and be great. But it took years to see they never got better together and some were traded for vets. You need vets and young guys together. Did you see the size of Denver's frontline? Kleiza SF is Shelden's size, their PF Nene is Shelden's size and the C Kenyon Martin is a big guy also. Miller got manhandled since he is the only big guy option but he took pressure off JT to play well. Miller also doesn't Mike Bibby to bail him out when he fails in the clutch like Chris Webber did. Miller battles every night. You cannot panic and make a trade because you have a bad game, you end up regretting them. The Maloofs panicked when traded Bibby because he had a playoff bad game after many good ones. Many coaches don't even start or even play 1 young guy, much less counting on 4 to be huge contributors. .

The team with the worst record is guaranteed to be in the top 2. So while another random team (like Bulls/Portland) could get lucky and get the #1 pick, we will at least get the #2 if we are the worst team in the NBA.

Well, what the he%$! The fellas played tough from the end of the third to the end of the game. They almost overcame a huge lead. JT, Salmons, KMart and Beno all finished with strong games. AND, there was a Sheldon sighting banging inside and playing D. Miller had a bad game.

Really? Are you sure about that? Didn't somebody move from #1 to #4 a few years ago?

No, it's guaranteed to be in the top 4. And very rarely has the worst team gotten the #1 pick.

True. It's also just as rare for a worst team to get #4 as well. #2 or #3 is the most likely scenario.

We did lose the battle against the Wiz but we won the lottery war. We are not trying to lose, so we earned it the hard way. JT played very well again, I know he he is going to be a 20/12 guy probably next year. We need a closer who can close out these games like Bibby used to do. Really it is all we need. I am glad Shelden played, how a guy who was the college defensive player of the year and scored 20/11/4blocks never got up ahead of Mikki Moore is beyond me. I don't know why we don't play have room for JT at SF, Shelden at PF and Hawes at C. I think this would give us enough beef and scoring, rebounding and defense. We could even run the offense through 3 positions.
We wouldn't have to go after Hedo or get rid of Salmons bring him off the bench. We would have an explosive bench. Again we are just a step closer to a monster PG.

I agree it was nice to see Sheldon getting some minutes, he should get more playing time. I don't want to see us give up on him so soon. I agree if we had a real pg and someone to close out games it would make a big difference. I disagree with many here about JT playing SF. I know he can in limited minutes but I don't really like him there long term. Defensively he is too slow to play SF, he has good quickness for a power forward but guys like Granger, Howard, Artest, Hedo, Lewis, S Jax or Maggette, Ginobli, James, Gay, Jefferson, Deng, Marion, G Wallace, Prince....the list goes on, these guys would all blow right by JT. I think we should drop the idea of playing JT at SF except for certain limited stuations.
