Bynum

Just curious, how do you think this team would have been at this point if the lakers had accepted the kidd for bynum trade? we wouldnt have DH who has been great for us, but would we have drafted a jerryd bayless or javaris crittenton instead of brook lopez or sean williams? and please dont bring up that he got injured so it would have sucked for us because if he came here then you dont know if he would have gotten injured. this is just something i was thinking about when i was watching the lakers game last night.

As often as Bynum puts up solid games, I honestly am not as high on him as some people. If we made that trade, i would have supported him and whatnot and would be happy he's hear, but in hindsight, I think we made a better move. We traded for a guy who was ready to step up to the next level and drafted well. Yeah you're right that if we had Bynum we would have taken Bayless probably, but since the Bynum deal would have happened a year earlier than the deal we made, it's hard to tell where we'd be at right now and who would be on our team. More interesting, I wonder who we would have gotten in the deal besides Bynum, and would the Lakers have been able to land Pau with the assets they had left on their roster.

That's all stuff I'm too lazy to think about, but I'm happy with our team so I'm gonna say we made the right move not acquiring Bynum. I think we'd either be just as good or slightly worse than we are now depending on how our young guys are developing.

It's an interesting question.

I love Bynum, and I would trade Lopez for him in a heartbeat, but Devin??? IDK, Harris is tearing it up, and looks poise to continue his reign as the top EC PG for at least a couple more years.

We would've gotten Odom and Bynum ofr Kidd, but instead we have Devin, Anderson and whatever the DAL '10 1st becomes (someone like Kyle Singler). Partly due to Brook's emergence, I'll take what we have.

My brains would be painted on the wall behind me if Kyle Singler ever wore a Nets uniform.

Agreed with this post 100 percent.

I guess conceivably we could have ended up with Bynum, Odom and Bayless (would have been without a PG) instead of Devin, Lopez, Anderson and DAL 2010 pick. I'm happy with what we got instead, though I'd be ecstatic with either package.

One other note, since Bynum was set to be a RFA this upcoming summer and needed to be extended, we very well might not have the cap flexibility we have if we got the Lakers' deal.
