Artest/Bargnani

Post#1 » by SmoothTofu » Thu Jan 22, 2009 8:40 pm

Someone offered me Artest for Bargnani in my H2H league. Bargnani's been great for the past month, and has even begun rebounding better. Artest is the more well-rounded player, but he's shot like crap and I'm not sure if it's going to improve at all. Also, he's been injured for a while.

On the flip side, Bargnani hasn't been so hot lately either. He's shot bad for a few games now, and it could get worse now that O'Neal is back in the lineup. Do you think I should go with the trade? If Ron-Ron shot a little better I would be all over this, but I'm not so sure. I'm currently first by only half a game in my league, and I could use some help in the steals category.

Take the trade. You get a proven fantasy player in Artest. As for Bargnani, you never know if he's gona keep up his production or just go back to his old self.

It looks like the JO for Marion trade is gonna happen though. Plus Kris Humphries broke his leg. so if that deal goes down Bargnani is getting 40 minutes going forward. Thats not to say that he will not slump, but the issue with him in the past has been getting a quick hook when he's sucking, and lately he has shown that he can still give you decent play even if he starts a game off 0-4.

I dropped him in Dec and Im so pissed that I did.

Ok, so I went and decided to go with Artest. I just hope that he can stay healthy for the rest of the season. I have another question now, should I trade a Duhon/B. Gordon combo for Bibby? I want to clear space for Ellis as he's still unclaimed in my league. I will be losing some talent especially in areas such as assists and 3PT, but Duhon will probably decline as the season goes on and my team has alot of shooters (and Artest now) to make up for this.
