Suns Mt. Rushmore

Post#1 » by Orange_Blooded » Sat Jan 24, 2009 5:18 am

They're Doing this thing on ESPN where they are picking 4 sports figures for each states personal Mt Rushmore, I thought It would be a fun thing to do for just the Suns... It's proving Tougher to pick than I thought though..

For this lets Use players Only, so no Colangelo, Fitzsimmons ect..

Here's Mine.

KJ, Barkley, Nash and Adams..

Adams, KJ, Marion, and Nash. I never saw Adams play, but I'm told he was awesome, and he still holds several team records. Barkley seems like he belongs on there, but does he? When it's all said and done, he was probably better with the 76ers. In any case, I personally feel that something like this should be based more on career achievement with the team than anything else. Which makes Adams & Marion (basically 1-2 on almost all team records) locks. KJ played nearly his whole career with the Suns (only half his rookie season was elsewhere), retired as a Sun, and was an amazing player on great teams for a considerable time. Nash doesn't have the outstanding career resume with the Suns, but he was drafted by them, won 2 MVPs with them, and was the face of the franchise during the recent uber-successful run.

Likewise about Adams, Have only seen him on espn classic, But he is 1st in games played as a sun, steals and rebounds... Also 2nd in points and assists, pretty amazing stats. So total agreement there.

As for Barkley, I put him ahead of Marion, hawk, van arsdale, chambers, ect. due to his MVP here and the amazing 92-93 trip to the finals... Marion was hard for me to leave off though.

and albasuna, I think I'd put Horacio Llamas ahead of casey on your Mountain (although It'd take alot more stone.)

Nash belongs on Mt. Turnover, not Rushmore.
