You guys get a a couple of solid vets (who can shoot very well) in Blake and Wallace, and your court IQ (and defense) improves dramatically, not really hurting your shot at playoffs this year as they all play at the same pace (fairly slow). You start a ton of vets, but clear a ton of salary, and probably start the rebuild much easier while gaining a nice young asset in Bayless who is local and could really get the fans excited with his nasty dunks.

Losing Bayless hurts, but hopefully with our pick and DET's pick we'd be able to get someone fairly decent in the draft as the third (or fourth) guy in the backcourt long-term (after Nash retires or leaves).

i dont really like the trade but orange blooded...Amare is a great player all the time? most def. not he plays awesome when he wants to and then just turns into a little girl the other times.

Yeah, you guys would be losing a lot, but the deal would be for the massive savings and cap room, the only problem is that you don't really have the young guys after it's over, you just have to go through some down years following Shaq expiring.
