If we make playoffs we get no picks?

I know we traded a pick to Denver for Lex and I think it was for a lotto protected which would mean if we get into the playoffs we have no picks because we lost our 2nd round pick to the Suns in the JRich trade. Is that right?
Do we really have no picks?

If so I hope we either trade for a pick or make a real hard run at Rashard. They can hopefully trade May and something for him or May's expiring contract for a pick even if it is to a good team and we get a 20th pick again.
Maybe if not we can sign Rashard to the full midlevel or something.
They need to keep the guys they have but they also need some young talent at the 2 so they have to get a pick or sign a player.

Maybe our rookies next year will be Sean Singletary and Lex because once DJ comes back Sean will get alot of DNP's and Lex doesn't play and LB doesn't play rookies so maybe that's the way there gonna look at it. I just hope they can sign Rashard if they can't trade May and Brown and a future 2nd for him.

That was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. DJ is a good new player so it takes away from realizing how stupid this year was but trading away our pick next year for Lex and choosing DJ over Lopez is only not considered bad because normally we pick the biggest busts on the board.

You know Lex would be a lottery pick this season, right? Would you prefer to have Cole Aldrich or Jerome Jordan? Who would be the backup pg, because I have no doubt in a scenario where we don't make the trade with Denver and take Lopez that we'd have a bad backup and everyone would bitch about that nonstop. There is not a satisfactory situation.

You know we here in Bobcatland are familiar with having a terrible #2 PG. Ours (somehow?!) actually started a bunch of games last year, even though the #1 was completely healthy and playing. We are not supposed to say his name, but it rhymes with Neff Nicninnis.

Lex would have been a lotto pick next year? How do you know that and why? If so why didn't he go earlier? That usually happens when players aren't coming over and get drafted for the following year like in Marc Gasol.
What is so good about his game were he would have been a lotto pick next year? Wouldn't he be playing a little bit good now if that were true. Who told you Lex was a sure thing to go in the lotto this year?

Knowing we have 2 draft picks second round we should trade May and the 2 picks to the Wolves for McCants. (I know I sound like a broken record but McCants would make us legit, and deep.
The Bobcats can't really draft to begin with and if they draft for need they need a scoring wing and a pf. You can't really get that in the second round usually and even if those guys are there we wouldn't pick them.
We should trade the picks to a team that doesn't want to add salary but I do have to believe with Rashard inactive if they can't get any good offer a May,Brown and 2 picks for Rashard is fair.

We would be assume with

DJ/Felton/Sean
Bell/MCcants
Wallace/Morrison
DIaw/Howard/Nazi
Mek/Diop/Lex

Again I type, would you prefer to have Cole Aldrich or Jerome James or Alexis Ajinca, because I don't have a preference. If you honestly do, IDK... write a letter. Those guys are all equal to me with Lex having the highest upside. He's a 20 year old 7'1 guy that has bbiq and skills, he just needs to fill out his frame. If we don't make the playoffs, we're still getting a lottery pick, so what's the loss?

Lex dominated the Nike Hoops summit against this year's college freshman class. This upcoming draft is acknowledged by everyone "in the know" as being significantly weaker than last years (just look at all of the guards, someone takes a flier on the 7'1 21 year old that has a smooth game. I'm looking at you TFKA Sonics.) LB himself mentioned that Lex would be a lottery pick in this draft (he went as far as to say top 4).

this is kinda funny to me. everyone complains about how we only draft college stars, right? well, we finally drafted a project with freakish upside and we actually got him a year early. that's clearly a win.

if you want to complain about him eating up a roster spot on this yrs team, ok. if you want to complain that we didn't take someone who could help us this season, that's fine too. however, if you want to complain about next years draft, i'm sorry, you have nothing to complain about. the pick was lottery protected and we got our project one yr early. that's awesome.

You know I could name 1,000 NBA players who were less than overwhelming there first year and went on to be good players. Crash didn't look like much his first 3 or 4 years (!) for example. But every one could see the incredible length and athleticism that he had, and what's more they could see how hard he played.

And that's not even a really fair comparison because Crash always spoke English, and he had years of experience against NBA level athletes playing an NBA style of Basketball. Both at Alabama and in the High-School tourneys/camps before that.

People that are as fast/big as Crash, that jump as high don't grow on trees.
People that are as Tall/Long as Lex, with his touch don't grow on trees.

Maybe Lex doesn't ever develop, but give it a couple years before freaking out. Would you really rather have Mario Chalmers or Darrel Arthur? Nice players but, meh....

If we didn't trade our pick this year it would be 13 or 14 (or worse, I'm optimistic) in a bad draft maybe Chase Budinger or Willie Warren, again, meh....

I never said I would rather have a pick then the playoffs. Never at all. The playoffs are way more important for fanbase and free agents alone.

I saw him play in the Nike Hoops Summit and all sorts of youtube footage. Had some nice moments in the SL too.

So you think he can be a really good player. What kind of player does his game remind you of and how wll he survive being 190 pounds at C or can he play the forward spot? Since he can shoot maybe he can play sf/pf/c

1. He was 220 when the season started.
2. LaMarcus Aldridge is doing okay for himself as a 240 6'11 PF/C. If Lex-files comes close to touching that I'll be very happy. I don't understand the doubts. Kid has the fundamentals, he's a 20 year old that needs to add 20 or 30 pounds of muscle. That doesn't happen overnight, but I don't get why people try to make it seem like he just won't be able to do that. Weight training isn't a big part of the game internationally, at least not amongst the young players. They want to develop skills first, bodies second. Now, if the doubt is in game experience, then that's valid. I'd like to think that if anyone can make him into a productive player, it'd be LB. You'd agree, right, since you think he'll turn Felton into an All-star.

Yeah but some people just can't put on weight. Guys like Keon Clark, Kevin Garnett, Tyshawn Prince, Warrick and many others are just built like that.
That is why I think Lexi will never be a starter unless it's at the 4.
I am gonna keep an open mind on him because you seem to be high on him and I respect your opinion but don't be surprised if he doesn't put on any weight.

I think with the lack of depth on our roster at the moment that if teams have late 1st's/early 2nd's for sale this draft then we should snap them up - unlike previous drafts.

There is a lot of depth in this draft class. Might not be too many All Star/HOF types, but lots of role players to be had who could help us out IMO.

We should be looking at seniors who have 4 years of school under their belt who might be able to contribute straight away to bolster our bench (thinking of guys like Dionte Christmas, Terrence Williams, Hansborough, Eric Maynor, Danny Green etc)

he doenst need to put on a lot of weight, he just needs to get stronger.

as long as okafor is here, lex will be more of a 4 than a 5 on defense. he'll guard players away from the basket, mek will guard the post. then again, we dont need him to start either, just be a solid big off the bench, at least as long as boris and mek are around.
