Zaun be gone : signs with Orioles.

Not that anyone expected him back as a Jay, but Zauny has signed on with the O's.
Not sure if he has even a litre of gas left in the tank, but we'll at least get to see him in the dugout across the diamond for those heated J's / O's grudge matches.

Add Barrett to the mix.

Ah nuts, where are we going to find a catcher who hits .200 and throws 3 feet short of second base?

The good thing is that when the Jays play the Orioles next season they can easily rack up a bunch of steals.

I never saw Zaun throw out a baserunner. He must of had at least one, I'm sure of it.

Thank God, finally this guy is gone. He was worse than Chuck Swirsky as a guy who was always trying to sell himself. A fringe catcher as most, yet somehow he was considered a legit starting catcher for so many years here.

He had some lucky swings we need more than him hitting the odd home run or getting a double to win some games.

Thank god. The man couldn't throw out a runner if his life depended on it.

This team will miss Zaun more than they expect, I think. He managed the pitchers very well, and played pretty good defense (in addition to his ability to get on base). Quite frankly, Rod Barajas isn't as good as him outside of the difference in their throwing arms. Hopefully Barrett makes the team, and takes atleast some of Rod's games.
