This trade would definatly help both teams... Then you trade Nash for Hinrich and all of a sudden we become younger and better defensively.

Something has to happen as soon as possible. If it's firing Porter, then they need to do it. If its trading Amare for pieces that are going to help us, then we need to do it.

Porter can stay as long as he switches his style, no more half court bull. Nash is 34 years old, he's got 2-3 years left he's not going to learn defense in his career, he needs to be averaging double-digit assists, while J-Rich & Stat need to be averaging 20 and 25 points respectively, thats how they'll win games.

Shots per game:

2004-05: 85.6
2005-06: 87.4
2006-05: 83.6
2007-08: 82.7
2008-09: 77.5 lol

Some of you act like Mike D has turned the knicks into championship contenders. That team STILL looks like they will miss the playoffs. They are currently on track to win 34 games. Last year they won 23...the year before they won 33. Hardly an improvement.

Of course Porter is doing a crappy job too. He was brought here to make us play defense, and we are right behind NY in allowing points per game.

We need a new coach and new players. End of story.

Bring in Avery Johnson...he's not perfect, but he's better then Porter.

Nash, Amare, and Shaq have to go bye bye.

Nash doesn't play defense and get's owned by quicker/bigger/more athletic guards. That won't cut it...he's done.

Amare is a heartless idiot. He got his contract...he has stopped caring.

Shaq is our best player this year...but I still think he is halfway retired.

Bottom line:

We need new leadership.

We need to get younger

We need to get more athletic

We needs to get tougher

We need guys who will play with heat

HELL NO to Avery Johnson. He's a dictator. He's a damn good coach, but he's a dictator, and that's not the kind of coach you want for a freeflowing, uptempo-suited roster. There's a reason that Devin Harris didn't explode until after Avery Johnson was no longer his coach. Again, I think he's a fine coach, but he's not suited for this roster. Again, Devin Harris and Jason Kidd both suffered under Avery; Avery won't do any better for Nash.

Devin Harris didn't explode until he left the Mavs for exactly the same reason Steve Nash didn't explode until he left em : Dirk hogging the ball way too much at the expense of his teammates.

The only thing Avery Johnson coulda done to make Harris that good on the Mavs was persuade Cuban to trade away Dirk (and J.Howard too if possible) for a bigman that knows how to finish at the rim/defend the inside, + a Vince type swingman that can slash/shoot/create... Which is exactly what the Mavs shoulda done if they wanted to be a contender instead of the lottery headed team that they currently are.
Forcing Dirk to give up the ball a bit and let Harris have more responsibilities wouldn't have worked out since teh choke doesn't know how to play off the ball effectively.

But yeah, Avery's ISO play based system wouldn't work well with the players we've got. Our team isn't built for playing 1 on 1 ball at all, alltho there are very good chances that even he would be an upgrade over Porter at this point..

Well we all know Kobe can't win **** without Shaq so at least this way he might get to have a ride on Shaq's back to another championship.
