Are you surprised Shaq is quiet in all the tirade?

Post#1 » by dingclancy » Wed Jan 28, 2009 9:23 am

With all the crticisms of Amare, Raja, Diaw, Nash, are you surprised that Shaq is being quiet about it? Because he had a large mouth when in LA and when he left Miami. I can imagine that the has a lot of insults ready to throw at the Suns once he walks away.

Thanks!

Like everyone else said, the whole team is centered around him. he is the team, he is the only one who looks like he gives a damn about the team besides Amundson. Shaq is a leader on and off the court, if he was to complain at least one bit then he would be considered selfish.

Good point. When Jordan would complain about anything, it was because he was ultra competitive and got a pass because it was all about winning. Last year, Shaq was traded from a team with 15 wins, and when he voiced his displeasure about having to carry a team with Chris Quinn and Ricky Davis, even though he didn't call them names (Like Jordan did to Kwame Brown and numerous other teammates), he got plastered in the media and on this board. Shaq has been to the finals 6 times, and at least 5 of those were a result of the offense flowing thru him. Even in Miami, the offense flowed thru him and opened things up for Wade. So he has a right to complain when his legacy is on the line. He is the one with all of the expectations and carries the burden of the criticizm when things go wrong. However, he gets blasted if he complains at all, whereas Jordan did not. Secondly, when Kobe threatened to leave thru free agency in 05, and last year before the season when he demanded a trade, he didn't get half of the negative press that Shaq did when he was TRADED by Miami. Kobe basically did the same thing- he voiced his displeasure with his current situation publicly, but he threatened to leave the team. So who was worse?

These are just a few points to discuss.
