Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears traded cornerback Dante Wesley to the New England Patroits for an undisclosed pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.

Wesley appeared in 13 games last year for the NFC Champion Bears, recording 13 special teams tackles and two defensive tackles.

Chicago also claimed fullback Quadtrine Hill off of waivers from New England.

Not a bad pick-up; he's a pretty big, physical corner.

Judging by his stats it's probably safe to assume that he'll be mostly a special teams guy. But it's still a much better feeling to be sending Wesley onto the field than some of these unproven late round rookies that we have at the back of our depth chart

the pats have a way of getting everything they can out of players though. given the bears recent track record with DBs im surprised he hasnt been on the regular teams a little more given his being a 4th round choice. i know the bears didnt draft him, but they do have a lot of corner depth. not saying the guy could be a stater, but he could see a lot of time as a "physical" corner in sub packages where chad scott would have lined up.

solid pick up, i like.

Looks pretty good so far. I like the trade.
