Kevin Love doesn't make the rookie team

A bit suprising, I thought he'd get in, guess they figured with 3 centers already going the team didn't need more bigs? The OJ Mayo trade looks a little bit worse today.

Because he isn't going to be a part of a completely insignificant game? Come on now.

Well I think it does look worse, he was the 5 player drafted, and you traded the 3rd pick for him, and he doesn't make the grouping of the 9 best rookies? It looks bad.

Now that said, I don't agree with the decision at all, he should be in there, he is one of the top 9 rookies. Hopefully this just motivates him.

Are you serious? Dammit, we will never get a rook or a Soph in one of these things!

A little dissapointing but I'd rather him rest anyway. He'll have plenty of allstar games in the future.

As a fellow Blazer fan I'd advise Bonzi to remember LaMarcus didn't make the rookie team while Tyrus Thomas did before suggesting this somehow makes Minnesota look bad for the Mayo trade.

Edit: Hey, cool apparently I was wrong and Thomas did not make it. But regardless LaMarcus still did not and it did not impact how he turned out or how that trade was at all.

The price good players pay for being in Minnesota. If Love didn't make this team you know damn well that Al has no chance to make the All-Star and he might not even get in next year unless we are setting the league on fire. They will throw Oden, or Chandler in there in his place or something.

Ahh well, I can't take anyone off the list to replace Love with. They are all deserving.

That's kind of where I am. I could make a case for Love over Gordon but there's already a bunch of bigs.

What's with all the dumb comments from certain Blazer fans lately? Is our January record threatening their status as the great, young, up-and-coming franchise?

I don't think it make us look bad at all. We traded the 5 for the 3 but we also got Miller and traded away some bad contracts. Love is one of the top 9 for sure but position was part of the decision too I'm sure.

I don't agree with the decision especially with Love's play as of late. Now he will be able to get some rest and play well down the stretch.

If it was a positional thing they wouldn't have 3 centers. Love deserves it more than Beasley though IMO

I don't think 3 centers and 1 pf is too many bigs on a 9 man roster. I don't know if any thought was put into the fact that the sophs are a bunch of midgets and trying not to mismatch them too much. To be honest I'd put Love in Rudy Fernandez's spot. I love me some Rudy but he's fallen off lately, and maybe deserves to be there in a normal year, but this seems like an extraordinary year.

Anyway, Al Thornton didn't make it last year and wound up making the all rookie first team and made the soph team this year. As mentioned Lamarcus didn't make the rookie team but made the Soph team. To be honest the Soph team is really the one you want to make, making the rookie team but missing the Soph team is not how you want your career to go.

This is a deeper than normal class, made so partially because we have guys from the previous draft such as Oden and Rudy who are rookies this year because they didn't play last year.

I don't think he plays enough to get consideration. His total stats aren't gaudy enough for the RealGM ballboy that probably picked the rosters

Love still deserved to get it. I'm sick of this crap. How do I vote for Al getting into the All-star game? I don't want to just sit aside and moan about this stuff I wanna do somethin about it!!!

I agree with C.lupus - it would have been nice but after the all star break we have 7 games in 11 or 12 days and 9 games in 15 days. Kevin can rest his legs and come back strong for the remainder of the season.
I've been a fan since the beginning and I will be until my end.
