Asked if he could imagine Kerr liquidating the Suns and starting over again, Nash confessed. “I can imagine that,” he said. “I don’t think that’s out of the realm of possibility. I would imagine that we’ll be together, but if you look at it, it’s 50-50. We could make a great run at this year, or they could find an opportunity to start afresh. We’ve got a lot of older guys in here.”

Wow.... Nash giving it a 50/50 shot this yr ???

Everyone other than Shaq plays that system, that style better,” Nash said. “It’s great to go into Shaq. We love his advantage. But if we’re going to be great, we need to have a balance. He can’t do it alone. And he doesn’t want to. We’ve got more than enough guys that are capable. But we can’t just stand and watch. Guys lose their rhythm. We lose our connectivity with one another. It’s important for us to find the balance of both.”

Ahhh...he might as well said 'We are a running team that Porter hasn't figured out yet, and Amare just can't stand and watch.

This is a very diplomatic whine by Nash...(or is it a plea with his 50/50 ?)... he doesn't point fingers, for he is all inclusive in his style. He never takes direct aim, he just fires a few across the bow. Besides, if he started throwin stones, a few deserved bricks would come back. You can sense the frustration. But will his comments have any effect ? Eventually an ego or two has to get bruised.

It will be interesting to hear his parting shots, and it is not if, as much as when.

The real fun will begin when Shaq takes aim.

From what I perceive.. the only reason why Shaq believes he should be the main man in Phoenix is because of Porter and what Porter is trying to mold the team into. If D'Antoni was still here Shaqs mentality would be very different.

What's up with all the misleading thread titles here lately? Some people should be prevented from starting threads.

Nash's comments absolutely disgust me...

For a PG who doesn't play any defense the least he can be is a good distributor and a key contributor on offense.....He is a turnover machine and we wont win a championship with a douche like him running our team....

The truth is this guy sucks...

My definition of a great superstar PG is a player who can:
a) Get all of his teammates involved in the game
b) Get his own shots and make teams respect his playmaking AND scoring ability (makes you alot less predictable...specifically in clutch situations...)
c) Hit big shots...

If he cant do all of those then its every other person on our team who should be frustated him with him...

What a POS...

I know some of you may be personally attached to him...but the RUNnGUN is designed for the regular season and would have never really won anything remotely close to a championship....

He seems the most unwilling to play structured basketball...and he should be traded...

You have no clue what you're talking about, do you? For the month of January, Nash is averaging 11.6 assists and 3.8 TOs. http://www.hoopsstats.com/basketball/fantasy/nba/playerstats/09/2/ast/26-1 That's a 3.05 A/TO ratio. Chris Paul has a 3.19 A/TO. So I guess Paul must be a turnover machine too, right? Nash is still among the top point guards. That's a fact.

In terms of efficiency, he's in the top 5 point guards.

If you trade him, who exactly are you going to trade him for? Haha.

Fine, go ahead and stick with your stats...

And yet I'd rather have Chris Paul with the ball in his hands in clutch situations...

THANKS FOR THE ENLIGHTENMENT BUDDY! THUMBS UP!

And for trading him...how about anyone who can probably run the half court set, defend, drive, stick the open shot and initiate contact...

Let's trade him for Marbury then. Call the Knicks.

Steve is wise and knows that this is good way to spark the team and maybe also let some of the ...ahem...second tier scorers that they need to chill and play within the team.

--- I get very tired of reading this sort of comment. Nash "doesn't play any defense"?
No - Nash is actually a fairly average/decent team defender. However, his size and physical talents are such that he is not an effective one-one-one defender against larger, faster, stronger guards in the league. Simply isn't and nevr can be.
Which is not the same as giving no effort; how many charges has this guy taken in 5 yrs?
You can fault nash for being a liability on defense, which he is, unavoidably, but you can't fault his effort.
Unless you are and idiot, which both the douche comment and this one ("The truth is this guy sucks... ") confirm.

-- By your own definition as posted here, Nash is a superstar PG.

He has been an extremely lazy and poor defender his entire career bud...Yeah I've noticed he gives some charges or it looks like he is trying really hard (but that just doesnt cut it, not at his position...)

He shouldnt be complaining about these things if he was the superstar you claim him to be. These mouths he has to "feed" is a PG's job, he is the teams best shooter and yet when was the last time he really made a shot that made a big difference for the Suns? Playing in a slower tempo just showed all of us that Nash is a very limited guard who cant and never could do what the likes of real PGs like Davis, Paul and Williams do.

So be kind and get your lips of his butt, and realize he is very limited. All this complaining wont do anything but harm this team, which already seems disinterested at times (wouldnt be suprised if Nash is the cause of that...). He shouldnt be complaining, and if he is the superstar you claim him to be, he'd be meeting those reqs and the Suns would be a top 3 team in the league.

And its "you are an idiot", you blatant idiot.

I'm done with this thread.

Just a bad take abaddon. Mary, stop the lame as* threads. People are getting sick of you useless threads.

Wow, I am amazed at the blind ignorance and lameness of this thread by so-called suns fans. The lashing out of suns players needs to stop. Lets all mature a little bit and see what it is. It’s the teams fault, not just one player. Its team D, not just one guy. Nash is not and has never been a good one on one defender, but he has always been a solid team defender. I think it was two years ago he lead the league in taking charges. That is defense. Yes, he does not have the numbers like paul, but really, Davis has never been an incredible one on one defender. Williams is good, but paul is in a league of his own when it comes to steals.

By the way, there are few guys in this league that are lock down defenders or great defenders. Most are offensive oriented and even in a slow down offense, nash is still affective.

Nash is ........ Nash

Bottom line, (I have grown to hate those words) if D'Ant was still here, and this team was not dismantled in the name of the all mighty dollar, most of you would be clamouring for his dirty jock to wipe your brow.

But... well you know the rest

Nash gave us 4 best years under Dantoni so please don't even go there. By the way how are the knicks doing under Dantoni now? This just proves without a great pg like Nash you won't win games.

I really hope you're done with this thread cuz you got nothing smart to contribute here.

I admire Nash in speaking his mind regularly - it needs to be done, especially at this point in time. I wonder if they will ever reach that offensive balance with the current lineup - I still think it is possible, and we have seen flashes of it.

As for turnovers, Nash is almost the same as last season - 3.7 compared to 3.6. Rest of the team needs to stop the TO's.
