Winning is so overrated.

Give me another beer or 2 and I might not care that we lost.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Unlike you, I'm a real fan...I still care about whether they win or lose ;)

Kinda hard to do when you're still at work until just before the game starts.

I cannot understand why we are not going all out to get Villanueva to play 5 for us. That would give us the most explosive frontline in basketball. Bring Hawes off the bench. Both JT and Villanueva would average 20/10/5/1 every game. The only reason I do not like Hawes starting is he is good scorer and defender but hurts us as a rebounder, draft a big backup to bang against big guys (like Shelden). Draft us a stud PG, and sign us a vet SF (we would probably have to unload Salmons for Charlie) and we would be ok with unloading Miller and KT in the offseason when they have better value in their expirings. We are back to the old playoff bound Kings. I would even be ok with CV playing SF which would keep JT at PF and Hawes at C. We are close to being good again.
Who still doubts that JT will be a great one?

Well I was able to understand why we lost tonight.

We were outrebounded, we lost the fg%, we gave up 9-13 from 3-point range, we only had 19 assists to 30, we had 3 more turnovers than the celts, we got swatted six times, and they scored 19 more points than us.

If that went the other way, we probably would have won!!!

Villanueva at the 5?! He would get destroyed in the post moreso than Brad Miller. And I didn't think that was even possible.

The possession difference wasn't even all that bad (rebounding and turnovers gave them 5 more possessions). The big difference maker was House with those 3's. If he has an average night, this game is a lot more competitive.

People always confuse muscle for talent. Tim Duncan TEAM or Kevin Garnet's TEAM will whoop Amare's or DHoward TEAM head to head. There is only 1 Lebron, but we got just killed on the boards. Body builder muscles don't matter, lean muscle matter more. Is Hawes supposed to be an intimidator? Webber/Miller/Vlade all were not great defenders but when they played team defense we were the toughest team on offense and defense. That was why Artest did not fit because he was a great 1 on 1 defender but not as good as a team defender. At our height the Kings were getting 40/20/12ast/3blk out of Webber/Miller. And someone traded Webber to us also. We just keep an enforcer and scoring big guy on the bench and actually use them. I don't think Hawes will be better than Shelden honestly. Hawes just gets intimidated like Miller by a lot of people, it's ok if a couple of guys get you, but half the guys get both Miller and Hawes. Defense or offense by themselves are overrated you need both to win in the playoffs. Hawes is as good a scorer as CV but not as good a rebounder. I also I have CV heard him as a Miller like player also and he is 6'11" so he could play C as well. Miller is a good team defender he just really doesn't had another solid team defender to play with since Webber. I think JT/CV would be very good team defenders.

I'm not saying the defense isn't largely to blame. It is. But regardless, in a game time situation, Eddie House isn't usually going to go 8/9 from 3. Nobody is for that matter.

Although I will say that I think part of it is very mental for our opponents. They approach the game with a confidence that they'll be able to score, and we routinely give them no reason to think otherwise. And I think that when there is no sense of intimidation defensively, the other team will often make a lot more open shots then they otherwise would.

In other words, opponents imagine every Kings player wearing a sign saying "Shoot 3s, I don't mind."

Mitch has a good point here. Teams have been successful with the 3 agaisnt the Kings this year. So when teams are planning the game with the Kings all their 3 point shooters are saying, "I'm going to light it up!" and then they do. House was running to his favorite spot time after time. It seems like the Kings guards would figure it out. Or a coach would say, "Stay on House no matter what!"
