Jefferson is a beast offensively, but without Garnett you're not winning a title.. so theres no point having Ray, and then Pierce is with the youngins again and you're back to where you started.

I wish Big Al all the best, but Garnett is still the superior player, especially if you want banner 18

hindsight is a hell of a thing. id still take the current team in a second, but you have to admit this team seems interesting

Well, you have to take Pierce's name off that list, since he wouldn't have stuck around with all those kids. Replace him with TA and that lineup looks a helluvalot less talented.

Let'ss see:

1) How much does KG's outside shooting open up the floor for Pierce to drive on the pick n roll?
2) How much does KG's passing out of the mid-post give rondo cutting opportunities to either lay it up or get an assist
3) How much did KG's passing out of the low post give Posey and Pierce wide open jumpers in last season's playoffs (ray allen didn't really get those since no one's leaving HIM to double)
4) How much does KG's passing and spacing reward Perkins' deep post position and improved scoring ability
5) How much does KG's vocal ability defensively improve everyone's rotations?
6) How much does KG's off-court ability to be KG make guys like Glen Davis and Rondo work that much harder, and how much more intelligent have the young guys gotten with thier sheer respect for KG? He is flat out the most respected player on this team. They freaking love his intelligence and intensity. Those types of things are remembered late in careers. You think D-Wade regrets having Shaq early in his career, and would rather have had Caron Butler?
7) How much easier is it for Rondo to drive to the basket with KG in the perfect position to kick it out to when he's stuck in no man's land?
8) How much does KG's ability to shoot the turn-around on soft double teams on a team benefit the team when it comes to tough playoff basketball? What did he avg last year in the playoffs again? 20/10/3 on 54.2% TS?
9) Who gave Paul Pierce and Ray Allen vindication with a championship?

vs

1) How much does Al Jefferson's 20ppg help a team starting Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins, and does Al Jefferson get those same consistent touches down low as a 2nd or 3rd option?
2) How great it would be to be just like the Timberwolves when KG, Ray, and PIerce retire in FIVE YEARS.

The 17th banner is already up there. Why talk about it?

Not this year, because Garnett is still better than Al Jefferson. But in a couple years when KG declines and Jefferson is prime i might.

I am convinced that Celtics fans are crazy, This year now I can understand that. But in 2010 I think you will have to start looking to get younger pieces, If someone offered me Al for a 34 year old PF on the back end of the prime then I would have to let it go and trade him. You can't think your going to get 16 10 and 1 from KG for the next five years, in contrast, Al is getting 22 11, and a block, now and is way younger, I think he can give you exactly what ur getting from KG with Ray and Pierce playing with him. The only thing you loose is the trash talk that everyone in the league mistakes for leadership.

Heres the thing, this year and next we have a legitamte punchers chance at the tittle, us cleavland and LA are all just about equally likley to win it the next 2 years, having garnett for those 2 years of contention are better then having 5 second round exits with Al J who does not yet have the defense to be a championship caliber anchor to a team like KG does, after this season possibly and definitly after next I would think about swapping back but right now, definitly no.
