Jazz meet and greet

Post#1 » by sendai91 » Thu Jan 29, 2009 5:04 pm

For those of you out of the area, the Jazz held a meet and greet last night for season ticket holders. I attended with my family and had the following observations:

The Jazz did a great job of involving some of the kids that attended. They had 10 kids in teams of 5 trying to score layups on Fesenko and Koufos and it was kind of fun to see those two swatting some of the kids shots back into the stands. It seemed like Kosta was taking it more seriously than Fes was, surprise, surprise.

DWill got up and had Fes and Kosta do an impromptu dance contest. Fes was good, but Kosta was awesome as demonstrated here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiHWMWbZCB4

They had an opportunity to go and get autographs from the team members. The line to get DWill's was 30 minutes plus, so we got autographs from AK, Fes, Milsap, Almond, Knight, Koufos and Korver. All of the guys were great, and the Jazz staff did a very nice job of coordinating the players. Kosta and Kyle were particularly good, they stayed about 10 minutes later than anyone else did and made sure all who wanted autographs be able to get them.

Conspicuous by his absence was one Carlos Boozer. He was not in the building at all, and there was no reference to him or his absence during the evening.

All in all, a great experience. The Jazz staff should be commended for their organization and the players were great.

Boozer was in LA yesterday for his check-up on surgery, this is probably why he wasn't there.

The dance off is bad ass. Both of those two are amazing agile for their size, could be valuable players in the future.

Interesting reading, thanks for posting it. Good to know that The Jazz organization do something like that. I wasnt aware of it.

The video is nice too.

Hey Sendai, you said the players were nice to the crowd. You didnt say much about Harpring. I always wondered how he is in person. I mean, is he a nice person, give autographs and stuff like that?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Ive meet Matt several times through work and my cousin and his wife are friends who went to med school together. Matt is a really nice, down to earth guy. Not stuck up in away, great with kids. He and I talked about basketball and football and he treats you no different then most people treat others. Now if he was more consistent on the court I would be happy.

Yeah, I've often heard Harpring is a very cool guy, down to earth, really not a guy who acts like he's worth 10's of millions of dollars.

Despite his play on the court, you can always respect a good person.
