Chris Wallace will throw in two first rounders if you just ask politely.

LOL. I might do this trade. I haven't been following Darko though. How is his defense?

Re: Trade Idea: Bos/Mem
One questions, who will pick up Allens minutes defensively? Are we going to throw Walker and Giddens into the mix to see what happens?
Since were getting Starbury, would you take a flier on Rueben Patterson for Defense?
I'd like to still have someone who can give Pierce/Allen some rest and chase the quick SF/SG's.

TA isnt that good on d, he is average stated by Doc himself. A Grizz fan said if we threw in a future first they would throw i QRoss. Also I think Pruitt could pick up the slack.

Re: Trade Idea: Bos/Mem
It's really not about Darko, per se, it's really about losing the versatility of TA, Scal and Powe. Those guys bring three valuable skill sets, while Darko just duplicates a lot of the things we already get with Perk. And beyond the on the court stuff you have the question of chemistry and the three players you're trading contribute to the team's chemistry now while Darko seems a bit strange and Marbury is questionable as well. I just don't think the good outweighs the bad in this deal.

Re: Trade Idea: Bos/Mem
i don't know if either side woudl do this trade, but darko is a pretty good defender.
also darko is crazy and intense- i think kg woudl like him. i think darko could develop like perkins.
as lowojo mentioned, the key to this trade for us would be figuring out who got tony's minutes. tony is probabbly our best perimeter defender, and i don't know if jr or mr. walker are ready to fill his shoes.
no way that i throw in a first for q. ross. a second rounder- maybe.

Re: Trade Idea: Bos/Mem
It's great to target an upgrade in an area, unfortunately a lot of the possible trades of a whole whack of Celtics rotation players for one position player just have so many negatives in other positions for a single upgrade. An upgrade to Powe or Davis for example would be fine with one of those individuals part of the trade, but I think the added pieces need to be players like Giddens or Walker who at this point we wouldn't miss in terms of short term overall team performance.
Removal of TA and Scal would pretty much mean that RA is Pauls backup, unless the idea is to insert Walker or Giddens in, which I think would be immensely risky at this point.
This trade for Darko in the offseason could work as long as it was before the start of free agency, because then we could purchase vet minimum replacements on the open market to offset the lost players in the single position upgrade. But at this point, all that's available to replace TA and Scal are the players so bad or so old they're not under contract.

We did fine well TA was out, what changes that now? If we get Marbury, House gets moved to the 2. Also Pruitt is a better player than TA my opinion but with more play I think everyone else would see it as well. Scal, WHO CARES! People were ready to let this guy go now he is a major part of the team HAHAHAHAHA! Powe is the only loss but we get Darko who is as good if not better.

i'd much rather have TA than Darko. I'd much rather have Powe than Darko. So I certainly do not want Darko for TA and Powe.

I am not a fan of TA, yes he had a good game last night but wait in another week he will start turning the ball over and taking stupid shots and everyone will be down on him again because he just is not that good.

So in the playoffs, who do you propose guards Joe Johnson, Dwyane Wade, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, etc. off the bench to give Paul/Ray a breather or if they are in foul trouble? Pruitt has no chance against these guys. Neither does House, or would Marbury or anybody else we have (don't know about GIddens but him not playing so far isn't a good sign of him contributing this year). TA may be overrated with his defense, but at worst he is still our 2nd best perimeter defender behind Pierce. Yeah we did well with TA out, but Ray/Pierce had to also log in a lot of minutes during that stretch because there's was no suitable wing defender off the bench unless it was a small 2 (Pruitt) or a slow 3 (Scal). It's like saying that we are undefeated with Scal starting at center so he should start over Perk and then our backup center problems are solved! Just because we played well without TA doesn't mean that we won't need him (or another good perimeter defender) come playoff time.
