Contemplating a trade.

Post#1 » by akaFlip » Thu Jan 29, 2009 6:38 pm

I'm thinking of a trade where

I send: Chris Paul + filler

for

Kevin Durant + Amare

Amare has been disappointing which is why I'd like to try and nab him off the guy and Durant is playing like a top 3 pick.

What type of filler would be fair deal on my side? Out of my rotation players I'm willing to give up Diaw/Gay/Hinrich/Stuckey and a little hesitant to give away Nene.

Is this a fair deal on both sides?
Will I be getting good value in return for giving away CP3?

The guy is desperate on assists and steals, he's 2nd last in our league for both those cats.

I'm undefeated in assists and only have lost once in steals, my backup PG's are Calderon/Stuckey/Hinrich which is why I think I can survive without CP3 and my team is in desperate need of blocks and scoring.

*This trade has not been offered, I'm just asking if it would be a good trade

Paul+Hinrich or Diaw is a good deal for you.
I wouldn't do Paul+Stuckey or Paul+Gay

I do expect Amare to still finish the year in the top 10, just not top 3 like last year.

If it came down to it I would do Paul and Gay.

Would not throw Nene in there, he is extra efficient.

I agree with the above though wouldn't throw in Stuckey either.

thanks for the input guys, like to hear more from other members too.

Another quick question, should I even consider a trade like this? My team is doing fairly well (2nd in the league) But I'm always struggling in points and blocks.

As great as CP3 is, you have to take the opportunity to get two top-15 guys for him. However, the other guys you're thinking of giving up are pretty good players; I'd have trouble giving up Nene or Gay or Stuckey, though Hinrich wouldn't be so tough.

Also, CP3 is awesome to have, great to check the boxscores and see him deliver night in and night out. Amare is not as satisfying that way. And he's not blocking shots this year either.

All in all, tough call. Offer CP3 and Hinrich, see if he takes on that.
