Dallas wants Beno?...and other Beno speculation

Post#1 » by SacTown Kings » Thu Jan 29, 2009 4:31 pm

Hoopshype is reporting that the Mavs are looking at Beno and Conley. Please please take Beno I don't really care what we get in return as long as it is not a worse contact.

^I wouldn't.

Beno > Carrol, talent wise and contractually.

I think Beno would be just as good if not BETTER than Barea if he played with Dallas.
If Barea came to Sac I don't believe we upgrade at all plus we take Carrol's contract.

I would rather keep Beno's exaggerated horrible contract and see if he improves.
I think the most value we get for Beno is Beno.

Dear Dallas,
Please Take him!!!

Sincerly, UKF

..And I would not do that deal but I would take Barea, not a big fan of Carrol.

Keep Beno he is a good long term offensive bench guy (like BJax).

That comparison is terrible. Beno is nothing like BJax and I would much rather have Barea as "a good long-term offensive bench guy". Beno is getting starting money to score 4 points in the entire game like he did last night. He got his money and has played what his contract is worth for maybe 10 games(at most) this year. So no, I don't like most Kings fans, want to keep Beno...

I still say that unless we get a good deal, hold on to Beno. His value will only go up.

I agree, hold on to Beno. Petrie shouldn't dump him right now, if a trade makes sense sure, but don't dump him, I think he will find his way once this team finds a style.

Beno was a very good backup to bibby somehow played well as a starter when bibby got hurt. Unfortunately we are paying starter money for backup talent. If a deal comes around that upgrades us or works for us financially I would do it. Other then a great deal I say keep him for now a see if we could get a point gaurd or maybe free agency and then move him coming off the bench where he belongs.

Might need a fact check.

Beno's deal increases each year, whereas Carroll decreases each year.

No I don't. We are paying Beno to produce whereas we would pay Carroll to do nothing. I would rather pay Beno for his production than what we would get from Carroll.

If we can dump Beno right now, it is a good thing.. The money he is gonna make is a difference between a role player and an all-star.. And all signs point to us getting a PG this draft, so that's another reason to let him go if we get the chance to

Dump Beno for anything shorter then his contract. Carroll, fine. Better then 5 years of a MLE for a bottom 5 Starting PG.

I'm still kinda indifferent on Beno so far. Obviously, his contract is probably the main thing going against him. But I can see Beno turn around and play at the level from last year. Last year, he was awesome. (Well, solid-wise)

Beno is a type of player that plays with confidence thus producing well. And as is right now, there isn't that much of it.

I just think its hard to play well when you're team is playing so awful. It's not only contagious but when your season is literally already in the hole I just don't see a lot of players playing great ball in those circumstances. I think if we give him time as we improve over the years there will be an emergence of Beno fans again. I think he is hated on a little too much and I think a lot of it is exaggerated.

I think Mitch says it best. Why trade him when his value is only gonna go up and he's not causing any serious problems for us at the moment.

I think Beno is culprit 1A as to why this team isn't playing well. It's not SOLELY on him, but the games where he was Beno from last year the team was VERY competitive in those games. When he's off, the team is just terrible.

Remember how bad the Kings were last year before Beno was signed? Remember when Douby and Cisco were playing PG? Beno has had bad games but has shown that he can play well at times. It is still to early to give up on Beno.

You guys that say Beno is the root of all evil in the Kings galaxy are looking for a scape goat. Brads game is not on par with last season. Hawes has been very up and down. JT started nice and recently has played well, but had a long stretch where he hustled but had little production. Martin and Garcia have came back from injuries. Martin has played well and Garcia has been OK. BJax has mostly been a chucker. Moore should not be on this squad, he belongs on a better team where his talents can be better utilized. For most of the season the bench has been horrible. How many games have the Kings been competitive until around the end of the 1st or the beginning of the 2nd? What usually happens is that during that time of the game the Kings turn the ball over on 4 to 5 consecutive possessions and the other team goes up by double figures........ often this happens when Beno is on the bench!

Its going to be interesting to see who is traded. And then to watch how much better they play when they have better talent around them.

I have Beno in my avatar. Last year I had Justin Williams and Brad Miller. Hopefully next year it will be Blake Griifin or Ricky Rubio.

At this point with the way the KIngs are losing all the players are on the block for the right deal. Let Petrie wheel and deal.
