I read your post, and say i love that guy.

Then i see your from melbourne. and im conflicted..... :P

I would LOVE to see that happen though, that would be awesome.

Love not getting selected was easily a MUCH bigger suprise to me than big al.

Shaq got in over him for his record, god knows hes not playing better than al at the moment. remember the suns game a few weeks ago? They rested shaq the night before so he could compete with al, and al and randy just tore it up agains the suns.
at the moment, AL >> Shaq. no doubt in my mind that al is currently, at this second, the better player of the two.

but the Suns have been sucking a lot recently (for their standards). IMO Shaq got in because of the ASG being in Phoenix. I also think that Shaq making it over Al isn't much of a robbery - David freaking West making it over Al is a royal robbery

Boy, this just grinds my gears..This is complete bs. One-on-one, in the post, Al is the BEST player in the league. There is really no excuse for this.

I can just see the coaches saying, "Well, Al has been playing well all season long but his team has only barely started to win so I guess I'll just vote for some schmuck that's already been to the ASG who doesn't really deserve it this year. Does anybody even know this so-called "Big Al?" I mean, he is from Minnesota and nobody cares about those putzes anyways."

I know this isn't the end of the world but it just downright ticks me off. Last time I checked the all-star game is for all-stars(hence the name), and if Al isn't an all-star in this league, I don't know who is.

Yep. I figured it would come down to Shaq, Pau, and Al fighting for the last two spots and Al would lose out. I wouldn't have had a problem with that as all three are worthy. But for David West to get in over Al is just unacceptable. There really is no excuse. Team record should not have THAT much influence on selections.. It's the allstar game, not the playoffs. Besides, didn't the Wolves just beat the Hornets?

^^I don't think they put much thought into our winning ways the last few weeks. Afterall, we are the lowly Timberwolves so it must be a fluke.

More positive pub for Al:

We get a lot of chat questions and e-mails asking why we're never as hard on the Wolves for what they got back in the Kevin Garnett trade as we are on Memphis for what the Grizzlies took back for Pau Gasol. And we've pretty much stopped answering those questions, because it should be pretty obvious by now. Seriously, people: Did the Grizz get anyone in the Pau deal remotely capable of doing the damage Big Al does?

Jefferson didn't make this All-Star team, but he's not going to be eligible for future editions of the Harpers no matter how much you want to dock him for his defensive shortcomings. He's one of only three 20-and-10 guys in the league at the minute, while also ranking as the most feared back-to-the-basket scorer in the game now that Tim Duncan is more of a face-up kind of killer. So you have to believe that Big Al -- after all the publicity that came with this season's near-miss -- will be an All-Star next February … assuming next season's Wolves don't start 6-25 and that he won't have to compete with such a strong sentimental push to get Shaquille O'Neal on the West squad.
