I wouldn't say that talent-wise that is unfair, but why do the Thunder give up a 1st round pick for a guy who is 10 years older than the core of their team? I like Camby and think he's still one of the best defenders in the league, but is he going to be at that level in two years when they actually need him? Not too sure about that... Kaman would be preferable. Even after that, I would say that DeAndre Jordan is more in-line with where this team is headed. Let Camby play on a great team and help them get a championship, not transfer him to another team that will be struggling to get 20 or 30 wins.

Gordon would look real nice next to Russell :D
but there's not much chance they'd take the pick if it's out of top 3
Gordon and Westbrook - both can defend, both score really well, both can get to the rim with ease.. maybe a bit undersized, but bigger and spec. longer then cavs' backcourt, and much more athletic.
The biggest downside to that is the one thing I fear for this team anyway, to much firepower. There are already 3 big scoring options on this team, there might be a place for one more, but probably more as a 6th man type.Gordon might fit in that description, I'm just ot surehe'd stay happy with that.

Gordon (and I presume you mean Eric, since we're on the Clippers subject :)), is a good player. I believe in another thread I expressed my lack of interest in having two combo guards together. I'm a big fan of the traditional guard role definition, and having one guy (Westbrook) that deviates from matching up with that is enough for me :)

As far as "too much fire-power", I don't really see Westbrook or Green as guys that require an above average amount of touches. Maybe I just don't notice it with the current players on the roster though...

Maybe, but both Green and Westbrook are capable of sniffing 20 ppg in a year or two they're not that far off now. Do you have a place for another scorer like that?

They might put up those kind of numbers, although I don't know if Durant, Green, and Westbrook will ever put up 20 ppg at the same time on the same team. However, Durant (to me) is really the only one that has to do it by having the offense run through them. I think there is potentially enough looks to go around for a 15-18 ppg 3pt shooting SG. We'll see though... I'm just interested to see the changes tonight with Desmond out :(

Would OKC be interested in a Kaman for Green/filler deal or has Kaman's value fall too far lately with him being injured?

Personally, I love Green and there's not much I would trade him for. So I may give a biased answer... but I'd say no. I really want to wait and see what the offseason holds for us outside of potentially just trading a couple of expiring contracts.

Would the Thunder be interested in this trade idea?

Clips get: Green/Wilcox
Clips give: Kaman

Jazz get: Kaman
Jazz give: Boozer

Thunder get: Boozer
Thunder give: Green/Wilcox

Nah, I don't think so...

At this point I would rather have Green than Boozer due to the combination of skill and age. Boozer is definitely good, but then you factor in injuries and contract situation, and it's a no-brainer to keep Green.

Ok thanks for the feeedback. I'm not too surprised about your responses. Green is a great young player.

Green to L.A.

Post#14 » by Det the Threat » Fri Feb 13, 2009 3:17 pm

Having followed the Sonics for many years(and last year also) i know that your team needs a low post presence badly.

Giving that the Clippers might be open to trading Chris Kaman, how about something like this?

Chris Kaman

for

Expiring contract(Chris Wilcox???) and Jeff Green

Thoughts?

This topic was discussed a bit in this thread, so I thought you may be interested in reading the thoughts in here...

IMO, basically, Green is around the level of Kaman now (although not a Center, which gives Kaman some additional value). However, when you add in Green's youth/potential and their respective performances this season (Green has been great lately and Kaman has been injured and even when he did play his performance was down without Brand there), I would definitely say no.

All of that on top of the fact that I'd just like to stay put until we see how the Draft/Free Agency treats us. For example, if we end up drafting Thabeet, then it doesn't make much sense to trade our offensively talented PF for a rebounding/hustle center like Kaman. However, if we get Griffin, then maybe it makes more sense to go down that route...

Hoops Hype has us on the hook for Donyell's contract this year
Does anyone know if his contract is tradeable or not?

I believe that it is not tradeable, as he is not on our team any more... I believe that if you release a player, you can no longer trade the player, even though you're still responsible for their contract.

Camby would look good in your frontcourt.

I definitely agree that he would, and I like Camby... but the problem is 1) Camby wouldn't want to be here, he would want to be the defensive presence on a contender and 2) with his age, would he really help us at all by the time we need that big defensive center to really shine?
