How will Ray Allen and Rondo play now ???

Post#1 » by DieselCeltic » Fri Jan 30, 2009 6:04 pm

No matter what anyone says, deep down inside everyone wants to be an ALL-STAR and when you don't get in esp. if you have a chance for your first appearance like Rondo did do you think these potential first timers lose their confidence and their play starts to go down. I don't think this will affect Ray Allen as much it will Rondo. In my honest opinion he should of been there instead of Nelson. Ray Allen should of been there before Joe Johnson, PERIOD.

I think the coaches are trying to mess with Celtics playing confidence or something.

I just hope Rondo continues to play the way he's been playing.

They will hold a grudge over it. That isn't a bad thing, IMO.

somebody tell Ray that the Pistons coach didn't vote for him

Tell him, that too, that he voted for Rashard Lewis over Allen.

Let Ray Ray drop 40 in motown off 15 assists from Rondo

They'll both be shattered, it wouldn't surprise me if they're both in the D league before the playoffs begin, and working at Burger King next year.

Seriously, not going to the all star game won't have the slightest affect on their confidence. If anything, they'll look to show everyone who didn't vote for them how wrong they were.

Unless I'm mistaken, RA was not originally added to the team at this point last year either, he was an injury fill-in.

Usually snubbed players RAISE their game and show people how wrong they were - I love it - the last thing anybody needed to do was piss of Ray and Rondo...they'll be locked in "overdrive" mode for a while now...

Reminds me of 2003 when Isiah benched Pierce and Walker during the All-Star game. Pierce used that as motivation when they played the Pacers and absolutely destroyed their team in the first round.

Rondo will take it out on Tony Parker soon enough. I don't think it bothers Ray too much since he's a veteran and appreciates the opportunity to enjoy the off time. I would imagine young players tend to feel more slighted by it because they want their family and friends to see them on TV in a spotlighted game. Also, players in general realize that a naming to the All-Star game will kick in a salary bonus in their contracts.

I doubt Ray cares that much. I am interested in how Rondo will play though.

Ray won't care. Rondo is a wilcard. He always wants to be the best so when he's not selected will he be disappointed and will it alter his confidence, or will it make him want to prove how good he can be?

Guess we'll have to wait it out and see what happens.
